Place heave grease on shaft of roller wheeles or replace the rollers.
There might also be bearings at the back of the drums. If they are there they will also leak. Spray grease on theses roller shafts to see if the noise go away.

SOURCE: LG ELECTRIC DRYER

Henry, its going to be 1 of 2 things. Check inside your drum, see if the vent in the rear has burning or discoloration around it. If it does, it sounds as if your vent is restricted causing the unit to overheat, so clean/fix/replace the venting and your support pulleys will need to be repalce ie flat spots from overheat. If there is no scoarching marks and you know its not the vent or heat issue, the drum seam may have parted causing the thump as every revolution is made.

SOURCE: Changing the drum rollers on a Maytag MDE4000AYW Neptune Dryer..

The instructions above are perfect for most Maytag Dryers, but the Neptune MDE4000AYW is built differently from most. To open it, undo the two screws that run through the door hinges, and remove the door, then undo the two other screws that are on the opposite side of the doorway. With these four screws out, you can lift the front panel UP and out. Make sure you unplug the dryer first :-)

SOURCE: LG DLE5977W electric dryer hums when attempting to restart

This is usually the motor but not always. Remove the belt. Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing. Manually rotate the shaft of the motor.
If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor. If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers, pulley, rear bearing, then reassemble the dryer and try it again. If the motor hums but doesn't rotate on its own even with the belt removed--yet you can turn it freely by hand--you usually need to replace the motor or the motor start capacitor. Dryer makes noise when i put clothes in. rubbing squeeky noise

Hello there
the dryer drum rests on rollers that keep it aglinged and straight
if one of these rollers start to wear out this will make the dryer drum misalign which in turn will make the dryer squeel also if the belt is starting to wear this will make it make noises too so i would suggest first opening up the back ofthe dryer and looking at the rollers and seeing if their is any wear from the belt or the rollers and if they are in need of replace ment replace the worn out part ok
Best regards richard

I have a problem with my DLE 3777W electric dryer. It is level but makes a terrible noise when running, and shakes very hard. Perhaps the drum is out of wack? Please help.

The rollers that the drum roll on when it's running have bearings in them. You have a bad bearing in the roller. You can have it fixed pretty easy, or do it yourself if you know how to work on things.

I have a squeeky maytag dryer that seems to be getting louder. Is there a lubrication that I can apply to a part?

UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have is in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine,
Remove the electrical box that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:
http://www.partselect.com/
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx
Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Squeeky dryer

Typically what happens is over time the back drum supports wear out. Once they have worn thin the drum rides on the bare metal portion of the support and you get the "annoying" speek sound. Or if the supports are the roller bearing type, the bearing fails and it generates the noise.
Anyway, the supports or rollers are inexpensive to replace and not very difficult.
If you want to tackle the problem, let me know.
Good luck.

Lg Gas dryer Dlg0332w drum making noise

The drum on my DLG0332W was also making noise at the back of the dryer...kind of a thump thump thump as the drum rotated. My dryer is only 4 years old. I got brave, downloaded the service manual and opened up the dryer. I found that the drum's welded seam was starting to separate where the roller wheels were coming into contact with the drum at the back of the dryer. Looks like a new drum is in order.

Squeeky Noise

Raise top by prying lose clips on front, remove 2 screws holding front in place (inside cabinet) and disconnect wirings, removed front (panel with door) panel, removed 4 screws holding inside front panel in and lifted it out, released tensioner from belt, lifted out drum out of unit, vacuumed accumulated lint from machine, motor, wiring, checked and greased drum rollers and tension pulley, cleaned drum edge from accumulated roller debris using automotive brake rotor cleaner, reintsalled drum, applied automotive belt dressing to belt and reassembled. Working for now. If reoccurs I will replace drum rollers and tension pulley.
