Unplug the usb cable and re plug it and it should pick up this device. Also be sure that you have the right driver downloaded.

Cannot connect to internet router is working properly it is connected to my regular computer but cannnot get singal for my notebook

Hello, bevybuns5!

First thing, make sure your WLAN card is turned on, however, without knowing your specific laptop model, I can't help locate it for you. After that, check your router's wireless security code, and assure that you're entering it correctly. Then, if you still aren't able to connect, try manually unplugging the ethernet cable from your PC, then plug the Ethernet cable into the laptop. If you get a signal, skip to the third paragraph, if not then read the next paragraph.

If you aren't getting a physical connection, it could indicate that there is something wrong with some type of software, or operating system settings that aren't allowing you to connect to the internet (leave the network cable plugged in for troubleshooting). Try checking firewall settings (windows firewall is infamous for blocking almost all connections at will). Then, if you're using windows xp, go to the start menu, open the run command, and type "CMD" without quotes (if you're using Vista or Win7, then just type CMD in the search box at the start menu. When the command prompt screen appears, enter this text without quotes "ipconfig /all". If you have an IP address, subnet gateway, and IPv4 configuration, then you're ready for the next step (if not, let me know in a comment, and I'll leave the instructions for that solution). If you're using xp, then right click computer, click properties, go to the hardware tab, then click "Device Manager" (for Vista/Win7, just type Device Manager in the start menu search box). Scroll down (if you have to) to Network, click on it, find your physical network card, right click and uninstall it (don't worry, this won't hurt anything). Wait for a few moments, then right click anywhere in the Device Manager window, then select "scan for new hardware". This will find the NIC you just uninstalled, and reinstall it (with original drivers, unless you've upgraded your Operating System, then you'll have to get the drivers from the manufacturers website via your desktop). Reboot the laptop, and try connecting with the LAN cable again. If this solution doesn't work, leave me a comment describing what you've done, and any error messages that have come up.

If you recieve a signal from the LAN cable, and still cannot connect via the wireless card, then back into device manager we go! For xp users, go to the Start Menu > right click Computer > click Properties > go to the Hardware tab > then click Device Manager. For Vista/Win7 users, open the Start Menu, then type Device Manager. Scroll down and find your wireless card, and if you've tried the solution in the second paragraph, you know what we're gonna do. Right click it, Uninstall the wireless card, wait for a few moments, then right-click anywhere in the Device Manager screen, and select Scan for New Hardware. Reboot the system, and you should be working!

Ok, here's the issue I'm having. I have my regular computer in one room. I got a new pc for another room. I was trying to hook up the Belkin wireless router too it, and something isn't working...

the problem is likely you need to load up your computer's wireless manager- for instance, is there an icon that looks like a fan or a staircase? that would be the manager for your connection. At that point you should be able to setup the connection w/ the right wireless key/passcode in the pc and have all the wireless issues resolved (basically you'd be looking for something like Intel Proset, Dell Wireless Utility, or other utility/manager (it will usually have "Wireless Utility" in the name somewhere... makes it easier to find!)

I moved my printer from one room into another and now it won't print. I checked and doubt checked the connections and every thing seems okay in the respect. Any answers It does print somethings but not...

it is possible that if you have moved it to another room, you have connected it to another computer as well. and that computer has no installed driver/software for that printer. make sure to download the right driver for your printer at the manufacturer's website and install it on that computer before you connect the printer to it.

Connecting printer to laptop

You need to install driver on laptop as well first.

If you want to connect the printer to two computers at the same time, you need either to plug/ unplug the usb cable each time.

Or you setup a network using a router and share the printer on the network.
Or you buy a printer servet or a printer switch and connect printer to both computer at same time, this is the best solution.

Got to a local retailer, explain what you want and get equipment (eg. printer server or printer switch) to share the printer between the two computer.

If you just need to install drivers on the laptop, use printer disk or follow instructions below:

Click right here.
A web page will open, select country, operative system etc., and click on download now loaction.
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find thefile, double click on the file, if you get in troubles ,then follow instructions below to reset and reinstall:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website and run the file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
