Question about ClickFree Computers & Internet
When you opened this enclosure, you probably noticed the harddisk inside. If it is the circuitboard of this harddrive which needs to be replaced, you should look for the manufacturer of the hardddisk (Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, or Samsung) , the type of harddisk and it's manufacturing date. With this data you can try to find a used harddisk at i.e. eBay.
When it's just the circuitboard of the enclosure, which connects the harddisk to your USB-port of the PC, you're more lucky, since you can buy for about 15 USD a new USB-enclosure at i.e. eBay incl. shipment.

try ebay with the same model number. You can transfer the circuit boards, retrieve the data, then you have a spare backup. Otherwise you can try to identify the component and check if digikey or mouser has a replacement. Sometimes if you're lucky the component is a bias diode that is designed to burn out with reversed power. Sometimes the visible damage may not be the only damage and other parts have fried. Touch a grounded object (like the case of your computer that's plugged in) before touching the components, and retouch it frequently, or wear static dissipative wrist strap

Technically this is classed as a problem on your behalf. This means that warranty will not cover for the damage. Also as you did not purchase it directly the guarantee is voided to.
The best way is to find a new HDD.
I recommend: http://www.misco.co.uk
or get one more local to you from a specialist dealer.

Simpletechs have a three year warranty so if your drive is newer than that it is covered. You can go to www.simpletech.com (they are really hitachi drives) for details on warranty repair. If you are sure its not covered the case can be opened and inside you will find a SATA drive and you can buy a new SATA external enclosure for 19.99 at Radioshack. This includes the circuit board, cable, and new case.
