All the lights come on but the CAE2793BQ will not runa cycle

We had the same problem. we bought a new control board for a local part shop for $335 (could buy online for $150) The part came with instructions how to reset the LEDs which indicate a failure has happened. This sheet IS NOT included with your manual when you buy the washer. The sheet reads that you need to recalibrate the washer when installing, or after moving unit to a different outlet. How bad is whirlpool not to include this in manual?

to reset: put knob in 12 o'clock position, wait 3-4 sec then; turn knob with the following combination, pausing shortly between clicks (within 6 sec).
turn left 1 click, right 1 click, right 1 click, left 1 click, right 1 click.

success activation of diagnostic mode will be that all LEDs (except lid lock) flashing on/off half sec intervals. Start calibration;
Toggle the cycle knob until the RINSE led is lit;
do not interrupt power, lid must be down, basket empty. press START to begin calibration (3-5 mins).

Lid will unlock and go into stand by mode. If this didnt work then the original fault still exist. It should flash a fault code, but i dont have that sheet. Whirlpool said it should of came with your washer.

hope this helps

Need new cycle control knob for Whirlpool Model LLR8233BNO

You can order replacement parts online. Here is a site that I have used in the past.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/top-cabinet-parts-for-whirlpool-llr8233bn0.html

There is a place to search within this model and if you type "knob" without the quotes, it will show you just the knobs for the washer.

Washer will not start

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

This particular washer has a test that we can run to see any errors. This can be confusing on this model.

Activating the service diagnostic modes.

You can start with the cycle selector knob at any position.

  1. Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off).
  2. Perform the following sequence of movement using the cycle selector knob. NOTE: After reset, sequence "a" through "e" must be completed within 6 seconds. When it tells you to rotate the cycle selector knob, it means 1 click, not a full turn. Once you have completed the cycle knob turns reset and "a" through "e", turn the cycle selector 1 click clockwise from the position it is already in. This is the fault code display mode. Then press the start button. Each time you turn the cycle selector knob 1 click clockwise after pressing start will show you an error code. Note: this washer stores 4 codes if any. The error codes on this washer are displayed in this format: F5 E3, F7 E1, etc...
If there are no error codes stored, you will need to replace the control board. Here is a link to the part.

Model # LSR5132PQ The front part (white and gray) portion of the Cycle Control Knob falls off.

There are four different styles on this machine LSR5132PQ 1-4. I would recommend looking at the parts diagram and purchase the switch behind the panel and the knob.
That will fix it.

Kenmore Elite three-speed model 23014100 cycle control knob does not engage. How do you remove the knob?

First, see the Sears parts list for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.23014100&pathTaken=partSearch

Then see the following for how to access the console:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=b73e90a0c05767e7bc74d80a72133966

Then see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/2550f737b3129b0c85256b0600504738/$FILE/787772%20%234.pdf

Beginning on page 20, you'll see that there are two types of timers and two ways to remove the knob.

Ours is a metal version and we found that you have to hold the back part of the metal shaft with a thin needle nose pliers in order to unscrew the knob.
