Connect to the router directly, open command prompt, type ipconfig. where it says "default gateway" type that into your web browser, not your search bar, but your address bar. it will ask you to log in, that should be admin for the user name, and the password could be anything. after you log in there will be something on the screen for wireless, or security, that will be where you can change the wifi password.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: In order to use WiFi in my home, I need to

Normally on the back of a router there is a reset button that will set the router back to the way it was when you first removed it from the box. Hold this button with a pin or tip of a pencil for 10 seconds and then go through the original setup process you went through. This is where you can setup your wireless password and your router password as well.
Check out the Trendnet web site for more detailed instructions if you do not remember.
Good Luck.

My Kobo Arc 32, asked for a password, when I tried to try the WiFi. I don't remember setting a password. So, now it's asking for an guest password.

It is not the Kobo that has set the password, rather the router for the wifi that you are trying to connect to. You just need to know the password for the router to let you connect. If a router has no wifi password, it is considered unsecured and ANYONE can access it. So most all routers use password protection. If it is YOUR wifi system, and you no longer know the password, you can change it if you access the router setup for wireless and change the password. Be advised, however, that all devices that connect to the wifi will need to change their passwords as well or not be connected. If it is not your wifi you are trying to connect to, then you need to obtain the wifi password from that wifi system's administrator.

What does it mean to "console into the router."

Log in to the router. Open a browser and type in your Ip address to the router and the login password. (They should be on the label on bottom of router. )(NOT THE WIFI PASSWORD) once inside you can change the WiFi password.

How do you reset a technicolor router

Usually there is a labeled recessed reset button on the rear of the device, near the AC jack connector. Try here for a User Manual: http://www.technicolor.com/en/hi/digital-home/mediaaccess/dsl/wireless/adsl/technicolor-tg582n

For that you need to access router. access router with default link in internet browser. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" then you can see settings of router. Click on wireless->wireless security enable WEP enter password save settings and restart router . Then your wifi is secure. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
