I'm assuming that you mean the green indicator light is not on. This could be caused by a host of problems. Assuming that you know the AC receptacle is live by testing with a standard light the next step would be to unplug the unit and remove the back. Check the fuse for continuity. If the fuse is good you have a problem with the power supply or a short which is keeping the power supply from powering up. The most likely culprit is the Horizontal Output Transistor. Unless you are an electronic tech and know how to check this you probably need to take the unit to a shop for further diagnostics and repair.

It's sort of a solution, but I work in a computer shop and got this screen in yesterday. I looked at it closely and it's actually the backlight that died. I pulled it apart and found that three of the 820uF/20V capacitors had swollen up. If you replace them then you should be fine, but I went for a different approach and took the inverter board from a laptop and put the in the screen and used an external power supply. It's a bit dark but it works fine now.

well i just had this problem this morning i woke up turned on the monitor and it came on but went out. but i soon found out it was not the display that is not coming on its the black light. if you look closely you can see the display but there is no light to light it up so you can see. it doesent seem to be anything wrong with the circuit board just the black light i am going to be taking the monitor apart to see if there is anything me or any of you can do for the monitor to fix it.

This model is released in June 2007, more likely to have bad caps by now, just other failed SAMSUNG monitors here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside
Post back what you find.
