Question about iLO 3200 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

ILO DPD4210, no picture or sound. It appears to be stuck in stand by mode. The LED lights are solid Green or Red. It just stopped showing the picture and sound. Any suggestions of what might be the culprit. I have not checked the Cap on the power source module. All suggestions are welcome. Dan

Sounds like an ordinary power supply failure. You just have to desolder and semiconductors that are bolted to heat-sinks and or look for electrolytic capacitors that are bulged or not the correct reading. A lightning strike or power surge could have blown a thermistor.

SOURCE: MY ILO LCT27HA36 TV won't come on, it just stays in standby mode/

I had the same problem. Then it worked for a while with me unplugging it and plugging it back in. Then one day it bit the dust. Nothing but the red light.

I found the solution on this website and I am trying to find it to thank the guy who posted it. For less than 10 bucks at Radio Shack, I was able to fix the problem with his instructions. And I know little to nothing about electronics. What it boils down to is this:
1. Lay the TV face down on something soft.
2. Take out the gazillion screws in the back until the back panel(s) come off.
3. Where the power cord plugs in, there is a ground wire going to a screw and another plug that you can undo. On this circuit board lies the problem.
4. Remove the circuit board (there are several other plugs on it. They all fit only one way, so I didn't pay much attention to how they came off.
5. Look on the board at the light blue cylindrical shaped capacitors. I don't remember how many there are, but look at the top of them. Find any that are bulging slightly at the top. They should be easy to spot. I had six on mine that were bulging. If you are handy with a soldering iron, remove the bad ones, making sure where each one comes from. There are a couple of different types/sizes. It is written on the side of each the resistance and what I assume is the voltage.
6. Go to the local Radio Shack and purchase new resistors. Note: I had some that were 1000 um and 36v or something and some that were 440 um and 16v. I couldn't find an exact match on one of those, but according to who I got my instructions from, as long as the resistance (um) number is the same, you can go up in the volts. So I ended up replacing some that were 16v with like 35v but the resistance (um) was the same and there are no problems.
7. Solder them carefully back into place. The circuit board is clear about which hole is positive (+) so don't get them backwards. The ones I bought from Radio Shack had a stripe on the side that was negative.
8. Put it all back together, and there ya have it.

Cheap fix. I admit I was darn skeptical it would work. I had already bought a new tv, but decided I wouldn't be out much if it didn't work. But it is working like the day I bought it again. And, it has a better picture than the Philips LCD tv that I bought to replace it.

Wish I could find the guy I got that info from. I was very impressed and grateful.

Hope this works for someone.

SOURCE: My 32 ilo, will not power on, the red light is on,

The issue in lcd these days is how well there power supplies are made and from what company there taken from hence manufacture. I will include a tip in here os you can see what we are looking for to determine a bad power supply or bad capacitors:

e7bdeb9.jpgMore often then ot one of these guys decides to puff up or blow out. These are called electrolytic capacitors. What happens over time is heat and dust, even power surges are evil to these little guys. Over time they just get weaker and weaker until one day your tv does not stay on or just does not turn on. We Americans tend to leave our TV's and equipment plugged into the wall, doing this allows current filtered or not travel threw the unit. This habit over time put allot of wear on the units components. So when tragic things like this happen we never consider to just unplug them or to plug them into a breaker/ or surge suppression device with a switch to turn it on and off. Not only to we waste money on electricity we suffer a tragic episode like you did.

Here is a TIP for you to click on and enjoy:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3565137-lcd_flat_screen_common_problems

Its called LCD common problems:

1. Bad capacitors
2. Bad inverter
3. Bad back light

Your case would be number 1 on the most common issue with LCD, even plasma TV's.

Thanks for reading and learning how to repair your tv, I wish you BEST of luck and do hope you get your matter resolved with little out of pocket cost. Please be considerate as it took me time to write and make sure you had the correct answer when you leave your positive feedback and ratings today. Thanks For using Fixya.com.

SOURCE: Tv will not power on. Led light is meaningful.

Is very unlikely that the backlight inverter board is defective, even if it was the tv should power ON but will not illuminate the screen and no video.
Check this link to find the power supply.

Two of my smoke alarms went off (no fire/smoke in or near house), one has a green light blinking and one has a solid green light, which need a new battery/reset?

The constant green LED means the alarm has AC power.
A flashing green light every 2 seconds without an audible alert means the unit recently sounded ( was the one activated ) and is now in latching mode to let you know that it was the unit that detected the problem. To clear the latching mode hold down the test button for 5 seconds.
Red LED flashing once per minute means that the back-up battery is connected and functioning.
Red light flashing constantly during alarm means that it is the unit that initiated the alarm siren.

No sound or picture. red timer light on. wd60735

Hi there,

This model as 3 LED indicator lights:

1) Power/Timer 2) Status 3) Lamp

If "STATUS" LED is blinking RED:

1) Internal Fan has stopped. These tv's require fans, to prevent overheating and causing damage.

If "STATUS" LED is solid RED:

1) Circuit failure (short)
2) Disconnected DVI cable, chassis to engine
3) No LAMP-EN signal from Engine to turn the lamp On.
4) Ballast UART communication problem.

If "LAMP" LED is solid RED:

1) Lamp Failure - Lamp failed to turn On.
2) Lamp is broken (e.g. burst or blown)
3) Lamp turns Off during P-ON

There is no data relating to TIMER LED being solid RED.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

Installed new lamp. When powered up blue solid light and yellow blinking light (15x) , tv would torn off and on several times trying to light lamp. Once that failed red blinking light and yellow solid...

Hi Genaro,

Blue led light lit solid and yellow led light flashes is an initial attempt of the set to re-light the lamp.Red led flashes and yellow led light solid means that the lamp won't light up that's why it only has sound without the picture.
Since you've replaced the lamp twice and still the symptoms persist, I suspected that the fault came from the ballast board and not on the lamp itself. If the ballast board gone to malfunction, there's no high voltage will produce to light up the lamp and will sensed by the processor and trigger the error code (Flashes/solid led light with color code).

To verify whether the ballast board is faulty or not, check if the lamp will lit by looking through the lamp door louvers at the rear of the cabinet upon turning on the set.
Please let me know what you will find to assist you further.

ILo tv

It looks like the power supply failed on your TV. If the LED is solid red or green, it could be some leaky or dry capacitors but if the LED is blinking, the failure is more complicated to repair.
I service these power supplies. If you need more info you can send me an email to jah2mil@hotmail.com
