Unfortunately removing upgrades will also remove functionality of any software you have installed. It may also break some applications and cause them to stop working all together.

The recommended course of action would be to back up any data you wish to save (Photos, documents, music, etc) to removable media like USB flash drive, DVD, or even CD. USB flash drives will provide you the most space for the least amount of cost.

Once all of your data is backed up and safe, You can perform a fresh install of your computers operating system. This may also be a good time to upgrade to a newer version of your operating system if your computer specs have the requirements of the new version.

Windows Vista system requirements:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919183

Windows 7 system requirements:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/system-requirements

Windows 8 system requirements:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/system-requirements

If you are still using XP now is a good time to think about upgrading, as Microsoft no longer supports XP, and you will miss out on security updates to protect your computer from newer threats.

If all of the above is a bit too much, I would recommend possibly taking your computer to a trained computer repair shop to be checked out.

Please feel free to comment if additional help is needed.

just been fixing a window vista laptop with problems

Microsoft stopped supporting windows vista years ago
no updates or upgrades
you are at base service pack one
and computer should have been updated to service pack 3 years ago
from service pack 3 a windows 10 upgrade is possible

try an ethernet or usb wifi connection .
.see if the computer will run the way you want it

any windows vista computer is a x32 bit system
with upgrades can run x64
x86 is the current

if you are running anything higher than 32 or x64 software the computer will be slow sometimes freeze or shut down

vista came out same time as and dial up internet
and early broad band

vista can run office 95 but windows 2000 is stable

My laptop is running slow

If your problem is that your computer is very slow and you have upgraded your memory to the maximum, then you should concentrate on cleaning up and optimising the Windows file system.

Download and install the following utility programs that can help you to improve the performance of your computer.

Advanced System Care Free - run the Deep Care option of this utility.
DiskMax - run a Detailed Scan and let it clean up all profiles, updates, cache etc.
Smart Defrag - run a Defrag and Fast Optimize
CCleaner - use this to compliment the above plus use the Tools Uninstall option to remove any unwanted software programs, browser tool bars etc. Also use the Tools Startup option to disable any of the programs being started on every boot that don't need to be, i.e. things like QuickTime, Adobe Reader etc.

One of the easiest methods of determining what memory your computer has and what upgrades you can install is to go to the Crucial Memory web site and use their Crucial System Scanner Tool, this will try to detect exactly what make and model your system is, and from this advise both what the currently installed memory is, and show compatible memory upgrades for your system.

Slow to open

Hi,
Is this slow when start up the computer or slow when you open an application?
If slow when start up the computer, the reason is your computer has too much start up programs and services. All these software, services is required to open as start up of the computer, that reduce speed of log on/ start up process. You can speed up by try these steps:
1. Start - Run: type: msconfig and hit enter.
2. The System Configuration Window will appear. Click on Selective Startup. Then go to Start up tab, untick the process that you think it not importance for start up such as Acrobat Reader...ect. 3. Then hit apply and restart your computer. You can disable all of start up services.
If slow when you try to open an application, then the reason is your computer busy work with some other higher piority process. If you think that you need this application open quicker, you can go to Task Manger and End the task you don't want it run or the task that took a lot of CPU resources.

Hope this will hellp

Pc is very slow

You can speed up a slow running PC by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Thank you..

Yahoo messenger is not responding while clicking it is not poening

Hi,

When you close the prog.that is it ,you just closed it .and you have to find the soln, you might want to try DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM,it might help you or suggest to you what to do,or gives you an error msg you can work with,or go to microsoft.com/error messages/help,and see what you can do.THE REASON for all that could be your msgr version is not compatible with the operating system on that computer while it works fine on others.SO YOU EITHER UPGRADE THE O.S,orDOWNGRADE THE MSGR VERSION.Also make sure that o.s.and or antivirus firewalls are not blocking it,and allow it.Could be slow connection,or slow connection to msgr or msn, make sure nothing running in background such as antivirus scanning,or live sreaming or video, while running msgr. And it would not hurt to scan your computer to get rid of any junk before you even srart troouble shooting.Start with easy solns first.good luck.

MY MAC LAPTOP IS RUNNING KIND OF SLOW- I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CLEAN

Well, generally speaking there are a number of reasons that may causing a Mac computer running slow, but commonly two factors: hardware part & system part. For hardware part: I guess it's OK if your Mac is not that old. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, registry errors... out there which largely slow down any Mac machines. about 80% slow Mac caused by this reason, if so, try cleaning the system from: http://www.howtospeedupmac.com/
