The water and coils take 7 minutes to get below 32 degrees. The Cycle is only 10 minutes long so the 3 minutes it's below 32 is not long enough to make ice.

Becoming more efficient with your heating and cooling


Here are some ways to become more efficient with your heating and cooling. Obviously you do not have to do them in order but try to complete as many as you can! = )
· Buy a laser thermometer! You can use this to detect air leaks (or at least areas with “minor” temperature differences) so you know where to put seals
· Keep blinds shut on hot days and open on cold days----helps reduce temperature extremities
· If the temperature is can be negated by using a t-shirt or a jacket, use that clothing! You will save temperature control costs and still be able to keep warm or cool
· Do not use those old lightbulbs on hot days---they make extra heat increasing cooling bills (but you can use them on cold days to help warm your house)
· Utilize energy star products to increase efficiency comfortably
· Set your thermostat as low as is comfortable in the winter and as high as is comfortable in the summer.
· If you are on vacation, turn of that air conditioning/heating! No one will be in the house if everyone is away and it shouldn’t be too uncomfortable to wait like one hour for the house to cool/heat
· Don’t turn your thermostat up/down just to heat/cool faster---all temperature control changes the house temp at the same rate and if you forget to turn it off, you just wasted some energy there!
· Don’t block heating/cooling vents so that your rooms can be controlled quickly and so that your air actually gets controlled, not your furniture
· Check up your air conditioning and heating systems regularly (not once a month but maybe once every year) so that the systems stay running the best they can

place one layer of greaseproof paper on the ironing board, several layers of absorbent paper such as disposable kitchen towel or tissue, then the fabric centring the wax then more absorbent layers and a layer of greaseproof paper - that protects the ironing board and the sole of the iron. Use dry heat, and press gently, gradually increasing the temperature of the iron until the wax melts and moves into the absorbent layers. Change the absorbent layers several times until there is no trace of the wax left in the fabric.

Consider the wattage of the soldering iron. A good soldering iron will have wattage of 80 to 150. A wattage of lower than 80 is not ideal for stained glass. You need a soldering iron that will melt the solder fast enough for your project. Consider the type of temperature control you want. Some irons will have a temperature control built in the tip. When the temperature drops, it will turn on and when the temperature is reached, it will turn off. Other soldering irons have a built-in rheostat. You control the temperature by turning the dial up or down. A separate rheostat can be purchased to plug your soldiering iron into. Rheostats are highly recommended. This lets you match your temperature to your soldering style and allow you to do decorative effects.
  • Step 2 Consider the heating element. There are two types of elements, ceramic or wire-wrapped. Ceramic core irons maintain heat more efficiently than wound wire heaters. In a ceramic core, the heater core extends into the tip for faster heat transfer. This will keep the tip hot for a longer period so you can work quickly and faster. Ceramic irons maintain their temperature longer and heat up within 30 to 60 seconds.
  • Step 3 Consider the weight of the soldering iron. You want a soldering iron that is lightweight and balanced.     Switch light goes on when pressed but goes off if... OR iron does not heat at all even pressing the button to turn it on continually.
    Don't understand which one question you are asking
    But if there is no heat at all after switching it on, it needs to go to iron heaven but be sure to cut the plug of the end, Saftey reasons at the dump. BUT if lights are coming on the iron is working. the large dial on the water filler is temperature control. Turn this around to cotton or linen.
    The light will come on and off while in use, it allows you to know that the iron has cooled and is going back to your select temperature( on the large dial)

    Make sure that you use water in the iron as it will aid your ironing and make it quicker. Make sure that the iron temperature dial on the water filler is at the correct temperature for the item that you are ironing.

    The iron is heating up to temperature, but it is not producing any steam. please can you help?


    1. Could be it's not getting hot enough?(Thermostat could be set too low)
    2. The pipe into the tank is blocked? (try pouring a little boiling water CAREFULLY into the iron filler hole and try that)
    3. The outlet jets could be totally blocked? (Buy a de-scaling kit from Wallmart or similar)
    Failing that you may have to buy a new one. Wallmart or similar have cheap electrical appliances
