You can download a PDF file of error codes at the link below. Your model should be on page 9.

Error message foot too high. To correct this, it is necessary to restart the machine. Unless it is impossible to continue sewing. What is the problem?

Hi,
Try taking your presser foot off and lower the presser foot lever. Does the error code go away? The machine won't sew without the presser foot to hold the fabric down, but without threading the needle, will the machine run without the presser foot? Now try the standard presser foot (usually J ) and if you get the error code then the sensor at the top of the presser foot assembly is out of adjustment. Without knowing more about your machine this is all I can suggest.
Good luck,
Bob

Why won' t my needle go up and down on bernina170

Sounds like a thread jam in your bobbin area probably from the thread getting caught. Once you find the caught thread you'll need to give it all a bit of a clean and oil here's an aritcle that might help. http://ginascraftcorner.blogspot.com/2014/09/love-your-machine-and-it-will-love-you.html

Pfaff quilt expression 4.0 error message thread block wont go away!!

Try unplugging the machine for a few minutes, and then trying again.

Sometimes the simple act of unplugging a machine with a "buggy" error code solves the problem, most any machine with a computer that does not erase the error code that started the problem after you have applied the "fix".

"Stop for Safety Purposes" error message will not go away.

Did you change the needle? Not sure if that would help or not.

Did you look up the error code in the back of your booklet that came with the machine?

Did you do a search on the internet? For example: Brother sewing machine Error code E4 . Not sure the brand of your machine or error code but somethings the searches are helpful.

I know if the bobbin itself is chipped or nicked up a bit you should throw it away and put a brand new one in. A chipped up bobbin will set off an error code.

Did you completely take the entire bobbin case out to see if there is one tiny speck of thread in there? One tiny tiny piece of thread will stop the machine from running too.

If all else fails, call Hancock Fabrics to see if they have a sewing machine repair man come in on a certain day.In our town he comes on Tues. from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. He will try to do a quick fix if it is something easy. He will give you an estimate of how much and what he needs to do.

My footup and footdown button is stuck and I keep getting an E1 error on the screen. Do I need to take it in for repair or is there something I can do to fix it? Machine will not sew because of the error...

Turn the machine off first and unplug.

If you've got a manual, look up the page for trouble shooting, this error message may be listed iwth a solution. I'd also suggest that you remove and clean out the bobbin holder. This is the little black piece you put the bobbin into. It has possibly dislodged if you've had a jam up. You will need to unscrew the two screws holding the needle plate down, take out the needle and pressure foot to give yourself some room too. Put the bobbin holder back into position lining up the red markings on the holder and the stopper, your manual should show images of this.

Once its all back together, turn on and hopefully it will reset to normal mode.
If you've done all this and the error message won't stop showing, then yes, you'll need to take it in for a service.

I need a users manual for a White Sewing Machine -

I solved this problem by going to a post on FixYa dated 6/4/08 oor 09 by Timetoknit.

The post mentioned a free download of "White's" Manual that is out of print, at White's sister company "the Singer Sewing Company's" website: www.singerco.com It also gave the download steps. The download steps are on my Solution post.

I downloaded the manual and printed it on 7/30/09.

Thanks for being here.

Flashing lights

This is a copy of the post on your premium solution thread.

According to Singer guidelines , if there is only red blinking light, then there is an fault inside the machine, unless it reset disconnecting from power.
If there is an error code with format EM-01 - EM-09 tell me which error you get and I should find a fix.
Here is a complete user guide, check pages 90-92 for common errors.
If you have no error message, and light does not go out with power disconnect then it may be a faulty control board.
In this case I suggest doing a last attempt removing all threads, and reset design unplug from power 10/15 mins.

Let me know if you still have the problem.

Regards
