Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range

For our GE Profile range, one out of every five or six times one specific burner is turned on the digital display (clock) clears as if power was lost. we can reset the time and all seems fine, until it happens again. what could be causing this?

The control board is going out and will need to be replaced. Here is that part to order. There is also a video on that same parts page to show you how to make the repair. The part comes with a 365 day, any part , any reason return policy.

I just read that the electronic panel malfunctions due to rear burner use. Now, I know that mine gets REALLY HOT in between the back burners (where the heat exhaust for the oven is) whenever I bake/broil. I am guessing that it can cause the same malfunction fromt he oven, as with the backburners. Whenever I use both back burners, mine shows F7 E6, too. Unplugging it for the night or just waiting til the beeping stops and then clearing it works... until I cook again. I read that the replacement part for the control panel is about $300 and another $200, more or less, to install it! I think this is more like a recall or manufacturer's problem. I have read plenty of complaints and I think GE needs to make a call to fix them!!

This is a very strange one, and you don't say how old this unit is or how long you have had problems with it, but most likely you have a poor electrical connection. Turn the breaker off and unplug the range. Remove the cover over the receptacle you just pulled the plug from and check all the electrical connections. If all OK, check the electrical connections where the cord attaches to the range. If still OK, inspect additional range and household wiring to range, including the connections right on the circuit breaker.

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:

  1. Turn you burner to the Lite position:

    If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.

    If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

  2. Clean the burner and electrode:

    First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.

    Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.

    Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.

  3. Re-assemble - Make sure that each burner top matches its burner bottom. The burner top will lay flat if put on correctly.

    Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

  4. The spark igniter is operating properly, but the burner is still not lighting. At this point, we would recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.

You are getting water into the range when cleaning causing the igniter switch to short out. The reason why it goes away after a few hours is because the water finally dries up. When cleaning the range refrain from using so much water. You will need to leave the range unplugged until the water dries up again.

Try one to light one of the other burners that work and watch the electrode on the burner that does not light and see if you have spark when you here the clicking nois. (( most gas cooktop spark ignitor all spark at the same time, even if your only trying to light one burner ))

If you do have spark, Then the Ignitor switch is bad.

If you don't have spark then your spark modual is bad.

Set clock on ge profile gas range


Didn't give a model number, but try the following:

For a mechanical clock, push the center knob in and turn the clock hands to the correct time. (If the Minute Timer pointer should move also, let the knob out, turn the Timer pointer to OFF.)

For a digital clock, push in the center knob of the Minute Timer and turn Knob in either direction to set the Digital Clock numerals to the correct time.

For an electronic clock, touch the Clock pad. Touch the number pad. Touch the start pad until the time of day shows in the display. Note: On double wall ovens, you can only set the Timer for one oven.

Lde3015st /00 After a lightning storm my digital burner display won't clear out the pf code or turn on. Clock display and all oven functions work properly.


As you probably know the PF code indicates Power Failure has occurred! To reset press the ON/OFF buttons, then make sure the time is set correctly! Should be good then!

Oven digital display does not work after an electrical surge


You may want to put in a claim against the power company, a spike may have burned out the control board

Oven problem


if you had a power surge then the resistors on the board cannot handle it. i am no electronics expert however i am a range expert and usually it happens when 1 you live in a very rural area and have frequent power surges.. 2 get struck by lightning.. 3 may have a miswired outlet.

Jenn-Air JES9860 burners and oven stopped working problem with display


sounds like you lost power to your stove. if you can't reset the clock, it needs to be replaced. in otherwords, the power outtage shorted out the clock.

have a technician replace it.

My clock stopped working on the display


The plug on your range may not be completely inserted into the outlet.
Clear all functions and see if the clock unfreezes
After all this, if the clock digits light up, and you still can't use any clock functions, it may be time for a new control panel.
