How can I connect a 5.1 sound system to a sharp

Sharp televisions don't work like you need them to when connecting them to a 5.1 sound system. You can connect them with a fiber optic cable from their digital audio out to the sound system's digital audio in BUT when you turn everything on no sound comes out of the sound system. So you start checking connections and troubleshooting, call Sharp, and maybe even call the sound system manufacturer. You may get a customer service representative knowledgeable enough to explain to you that Sharp televisions were designed without center channel capability. This means that the only use for the digital audio out is to get sound from your sound system when watching tv channels when your Sharp television is connected to your rooftop antenna only or directly to basic digital cable with no cable box or satellite tv receiver. Yes I just stated that you only connect the sound system to the Sharp television when you are watching over the air broadcasts or basic digital cable without a cable box.

People say "but that doesn't make any sense." But it is true. Sometimes you will get lucky and connect a Sharp television to the sound system with the fiber optic cable and get sound out of one of the devices you've connected to the Sharp television with an hdmi cable. You will then be directed by the customer service rep to connect all your devices to the sound system and connect them all to the television as well OR connect all your devices to the sound system with hdmi cables and connect the sound system to the television with one hdmi cable.

TC-P50GT25 Viera has no audio out put.I need to connect surround sound.

In that case all you can do is connect each device you're connecting to the television to the surround sound. You would connect the device to the television for video only and connect the sound cables to the surround sound. You may also be able to connect the devices directly to the surround sound (video and audio) and then connect it to one of the television's inputs.

How do I change my tv to 1080p..its on 480I currently

You can't change the resolution on the television itself. You change the resolution on whatever you have connected to the television. Let's say it's a cable box or a blu ray player you've got connected to the television. First off you have to connect it to the television with a component (green, blue, red, white, red) cable or an hdmi cable. Then you make sure it is only connected to the television with either a component cable or an hdmi cable. This may sound ridiculous but there are some people that have their cable boxes and blu ray players connected to their televisions three different ways ( an hdmi cable, a composite cable, and a component cable) when they only need to have it connected one way.
Select the proper input on the television. Set the cable box or blu ray player's resolution to 1080i or 1080p (in the case of the blu ray player if it the tv will allow it).

When you connect the HDMI cable from the TV to the receiver, is the receiver to and the TV to work pr is some other connection needed?

You can't connect your receiver to the television to get sound that way unless your television has an hdmi output. Your tv more than likely does not have an hdmi output. Those are hdmi inputs on your television. The way to connect the television to the receiver is to connect the red and white RCA outputs from the tv to the red and white RCA inputs on the receiver to get stereo sound. Now if your television has a digital audio out you might be able to get surround sound with connecting a fiber optic cable between the digital audio out of the tv and the digital audio in on the receiver, but this does not always work for all of the devices you have connected to your television.

The way to go is to connect all of your devices to the television's inputs for video and directly to the receiver for sound. The devices are connected from their audio OUT to your receiver's audio IN.

How Do I Connect the DVD to my TOSHIBA 36A43?

Hello,

You get the red, yellow and white, then you connect the red to the audio out of the player and connect it to the audio in of the television, then you connect the yellow prong to the video out of the player and connect it to the video in of the television, then you leave the white free.

Put your television on AV mode and you will be able to view movies from the DVD player on the television.

Hope this helps.

Trying to connect bose speakers to my insignia flat screen tv?

this can be done with a receiver hook-up. The speaker are connected to the receiver and the television is also connected to the receive input circuits. This should be explained in the owners manual of the television and the receiver. Another way to connect the speakers is to have a preamplifier and a amplifier. Where the speakers are connected to the amplifier and the television is connected to the preamplifier. The preamplifier output is connected to the amplifier input. This all also should be explained in the owners manuals of the products. It is important to read these manuals to find the correct connection methods and correct cables to use for the connections. If you still cannot do the connections , Then call customer service for the devises to get help with the procedures. Hope this helps you with your problem.
