Hi all I have an ARCHOS 53 Platinum mobile phone which is brilliant excluding one problem, When i plug my headphones in its really quiet I did read up and noted it said if you leave the pin half in and half out it will be ok and it is the problem is the first time you do anything it falls out and you lose the volume again. My question today would be is there an adaptor I could buy to enable me to use my soul by ludacris headphones? Failing that I note archos sell some headphones directly on there page are they any good? PLEASE HELP!

Yeah you need to go to the archos website and buy the cinema plug in (£14.99) if you want to play all. the only other option is to convert the avi files that you cant play. Also if you want to play any mpeg4 files and quite a few other files with different audio codecs you need the podcast plug in (again £14.99). This is the only way to be able to play everything on your archos without converting the files - it's a bit of a rip off as each set of plugins is specifically downloaded for a product key so you cant even get one from someone else - believe me I have tried for days to get them free!

Take the battery off, and to the left of the battery connetion tabs is a small gold button, push and hold for 10 seconds. It should start up after doing this.

There is a seller on ebay (name is luhahaca) that says he is an Archos official Plug-ins reseller. Just search for 605 Plug-ins on ebay. He sells a four pack for only $38.00. I bought and installed them and they work great. Really makes the Archos functional - the way it should come out of the box. Actually, (sadly) the way it does seem to come out of the box - I was disappointed when I received my plug-ins download. All 4 plug-ins = 2kb. Web browser with widgets, extended movie and music capabilities and Real player mode. It seems to me that all of this is already in the Archos, they simply charge extra for a key to access it. It's a shame. Totally worth the price if you have an Archos, but really too bad they feel the need to force their hand into your pocket after you've just given them hundreds of dollars. I think the unit would be reviewed better, and Archos wouldn't look so petty, if these features were just enabled right out of the box. (my opinion anyways)
