Dell Inspiron touchscreen stopped working. Rebooted twice to no avail.

    Tony, Thx for the response, but I do not know what a recover dvd or usb is nor how to use one. While awaiting a reply I went to dell support, ran several diagnostics and after going in circles for half an hour screen went blank. When I rebooted, touch screen was working again. Very confusing!! Yes, it is Windows 8. I am concerned that it will happen again.

Windows 8 machine I guess? Put a recover dvd or USB-drive in computer and start it up, let i go to install screen( this is very important NOT to go if you do not now how to recover) and you should see a smaller text there it says something like "Repair Computer?" click that text and computer starts in recover screen and there should be and few selections of choices. REMEBER if you do restore from factory settings you loose EVERYTHING (such as Photos, music, videos, etc...) on the computer.

Let me ercommend something here, to verify if it's Microsoft problem just connect the monitor to another PC. If it does not work then maybe it could be MS related.If it happens to work then it's Viewsonic.

Dell laptop touch screen not working

Check all drivers are loaded for the touchscreen interface, if they are remove them and re-install.

If that doesn't solve your issue I would check the cable that connects the touchscreen and that the touchscreen is fitted correctly.

Sounds like a touchscreen problem, itself.
The touchscreen is NOT part of the LCD screen itself, but when you go to replace, the two units are combined; and sold as one unit.
Examples. NOT advertising. You may find better prices from your search, and reputable dealers also,

The touchscreen uses the Capacitive Sensitive system. Each area on the touchscreen has a separate CS unit for it,
Which is what makes me think with two keys not working, the touchscreen is the problem.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 XP - After setting up to new wireless network at home I can't get network to show in list of available networks. I have done the fn/f2 thing (but I can't tell if the buttons...

You may be hiding your wireless network SSID. I would sugget checking this setting in your router. Do you have any other wireless dives that can see the network?

I have a new dell inspiron m5030 but when i turn it on this day i got a message "Warning:The system unable to charge the battery. please help me with my problem. thank you

There is a BIOS update available from Dell that is supposed to cure this problem.

I solved the problem by using up my battery until the the screen would black out. Afterwards, I rebooted it (again without using AC adaptor) and the system warned me of low battery and to press F1. After pressing F1 I plugged the adaptor back and tried rebooting. The problem was solved

My dell 1100. Is not rebooting I tried ur solution an it did not work


there is no issue with hardware, the thing one of your program is running continuously, that's why u r note book is not rebooting.

Just go to run and tpye command as "msconfig" here you can find the startup, disable all program with are running in startup and kiill all services with are not related to windows os by, service tab in this windows, here you need to click on hide Microsoft service to avoid to stop Microsoft services.

after that your Dell inspiron 1100 note book not rebooted, you need to do reinstall the operating system and install all new drivers. you can download drivers from or any third party websites, for more info

I have a Dell Inspiron 530S desktop. My card reader simply stopped working. Doesn't read any card I insert. I checked the drivers....all seem to be installed and working. Couldn't find any problems. Help!

Found another solution online that worked...tried it, and it worked for me. Checked for drivers that needed updating or reinstalling. Reinstalled the driver. Shut down computer...rebooted and it worked. Don't know if it will continue to read cards, but for now...yea!
