I have proform smart stride. When you turn it on, it makes a clicking noise and has no resistance. Just started the other day. It's about a year old, but rarely used

Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

· 1
Check your owner's manual for diagrams and definitions. You'll need this information when you put the elliptical back together. You'll also want definitions in case you need to call the customer support line for assistance.
· 2
Be aware that the resistance is often the part that requires repair. Resistance is managed magnetically, so often if the machine is working, but the resistance isn't setting correctly or at all, check the bolts that secure the magnets. If they are loose, the resistance will slip. If the bolts are fine, check the magnets themselves by using a refrigerator magnet and see if it is attracted or repelled by the your fridge magnet. If not, the magnets have de-magnetized and need to be replaced.

· 3
Consider that if the foot pedals are attached with bolts, any slipping can be fixed with a quick use of the wrench. But if the foot pedals are damaged or breaking, order new foot pedals (see Resources below) rather than run the risk of a pedal breaking while you're on the machine.
· 4
Check the hand bars. While not all people use them, as they can elevate your heart rate by up to 20 percent, they can become worn, too. While loose hand bars typically need a simple tightening of the bolt, be sure not to overtighten as the bolts can break.
· 5
Know that if the axis is bent, it's likely you need a new machine. The axis is the central alignment of the elliptical. If the machine was used by a person who is over the maximum weight limit, it can be bent or damaged. It's not an easy fix and a better idea is to upgrade to a sturdier machine

SOURCE: Proform ZT5 Treadmill clicking noise

Dear Sir:
If it sounds like metal rotating on metal then it could be roller bearings or motor bearings. Most of the time the bearings will have to be pressed out and the new ones pressed in. May be you must go the treadmill to workshop. sincerely. God bless you.

I have a Proform Smart Stride. It makes a loud clicking noise in the back when you plug it in and has no resistance when it turns no matter the resistance setting.

see the video attached. Lube the rollers bearing front and back. Test the belt drive motor, tight by 1/4" deflection, and replace if necessary.
However if the problem persist, TIME to replace old board deck.
God bless you

I have a Proform XP 400R Recumbent bike..... i just bought it yesterday and it seems the console is not working properly. Every 5 to 8 seconds while im on the bike the time elapsed stops and the miles...

The resistance control broke on my pro form xp 400 after 4 years of good use. A replacement console sells for $180. I just popped off the plastic rotary control and behind it was the reostat stem which can be turned with two fingers. Now I have resistance control again. Happy days are here again!

Scraping/Squeaking noise on recumbent stationary bicycle

There are most likely some sort of bearings inside the wheel hub that are causing this.

Belt makes noise, like it is scrapping something!

Do you have a three year old in the house?? Our ProForm 795 treadmill started making noise when the belt was rotating. Come to find out, he had hidden a plastic clothes hanger inside where the drive roller spins the belt. That was our scaping noise.
Otherwise, is your belt tensioned correctly? If not, it could be tracking to one side or the other.

Mower will not start will make clicking noise. did start at for one minute

Your battery is dead. Replace it.
In the winter keep a smart trickle charger on the battery to prevent it from discharging. Lead/acid batteries lose 1% of their charge per day and are basically junk in 3 months. They have to be kept charged.
