SOURCE: KEYBOARD PROBLEM

Was there any liquids spilled inside the keyboard? You may need to have the keyboard replaced as they start to fail in due time.

Try to re-enable the startup programs. You don't need that program to enable start-up items. However, you will need to do some digging to find out exactly WHAT has been disabled. Otherwise, you have no other choice BUT to do a clean install, or revert to your last backup. Those options are way more trouble than reinstalling software.

The @ key won't work on my Samsung Netbook

This usually occurs when the wrong type of keyboard is applied during OS installation. Try the other key combinations (Shift+2) and see if it appears. If not, use the onscreen keyboard which can be found at Accessories then Accesibility

You can do a power drain how?

Just follow these steps:

  1. Shutdown the laptop/netbook.
  2. Unplug the AC power cord (charger) from the laptop and remove the battery. (You can refer to you manual on how to remove the battery)
  3. Now with the battery and charger unplugged, just press and hold the power button of your computer for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Now release the power button, plug in the battery and turn on the computer. It should perform much better now.
  5. Then you can check if your keyboard is working. :)

Some of the keys on my keyboard(aspire one netbook 8.9 ) will not work unless i depress the fn button. how do i de-activate it?

You accidentally set your netbook's NumLk on. The NumLk indicator is the third LED from the left at the top left of keyboard (on top of the housing for the battery). It is in between the disk activity LED and the caps lock LED. You can also confirm NumLk is on by starting the Notepad or Wordpad applications and pressing the following keys U I O P and J K L which will result in 4 5 6 * and 1 2 3
To regain normal (non keypad) operation of your keyboard, hold down the Fn key (2nd key from the left at the bottom - right beside the Ctrl key) and press F11 momentarily. This should turn off the NumLk LED

Fujitsu M2011 netbook keyboard/function key problem

The function key could be damaged or stuck down. If not, try going to Device Manager. Right click on the Keyboard and choose Properties. Click on Update Driver as it might find something. Reboot the computer. If that doesn't work, go to Device Manager, right click on the keyboard, choose Uninstall, and reboot the computer. When it starts up and sees the keyboard and loads a driver(s) for it, it might fix it. Good luck.

I spilled liquid on my Acer Aspire One netbook, and now some keys don't work on the keyboard. How do I fix this problem?

Below is the link to the service and repair guide. Change out the keyboard...they do not do well with spills. They are really just one big circuit board. Buy one cheap on Ebay and change it out following the guide below.
