Unfortunately if you do not know the pattern you will need to do a factory reset. To do this follow these steps:
Power off phone.
Hold VOL UP and HOME while powering phone on
Release PWR when phone vibrates
Release VOL UP and HOME when recovery screen appears
Use VOL DOWN to highlight Wipe Data
Press PWR to select
Highlight 'Reboot system now'
