I suggest that if you have more than one knob of the same type, these knobs are usually removable by pulling straight out. Pull the knobs out and compare the inside. I would not be surprised if a metal insert is missing or the inside is stripped. Hope this suggestion is helpful.

On the NEFF u1461 how do you replace the oven knob part No 188840 Thanks Robert

Pair of pliers on the old knob (make sure it is in the off position) and a hefty tug. The new one will push on by hand, push it all the way in so it is flush to the fascia and then click it to check the pop out mechanism works ok. The knob is a D shaped fitting with the flat part of the D at the top.Hope this helps. You may find when you tug at the old knob, the cover comes off and you are left with the black portion still in position, if this happens, reposition the pliers on the protruding black lug and give it another pull, this will get out the remaining part of the knob.

Ge oven will not preheat but broiler and stove top still works

Hello.

When an oven won't bake, it's because the bakeelement is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at thebottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This elementhas an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it maylast for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem.Otherwise, you need to further troubleshoot the oven's electrical system tolocate the defective wire or component. When the temperature is consistent buttoo high or too low, it could be one of several different things.
First checkto see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It couldbe lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This wouldcause the oven to not heat correctly. If the thermostat bulb is notdislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibratedor defective. Electronic ovens with a digitaldisplay use a sensor to monitor oven temperature.
To solve temperature problemsfor these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-displaymodels, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See youroperator's manual for details. Ovens without a digital displayoften use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. On many of theseunits, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to moreaccurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat.
If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you canloosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. If the knobisn't adjustable, and the oven temperature is off by more than 35 to 45degrees, you need to replace the thermostat to solve the problem.

Thanks.

Timer shows F30

I had the same F30 error problem but fixed it. On my professional series Frigidaire, there are 2 resettable red button locations. I discovered that only one is in the rear of the oven. After going to the breaker box and shutting off the power, pull out the stove enough to work, unscrew the rear screws (I didn't unscrew all of them, just enough to work back there). The small red button is on a small black round piece with two purple wires feeding to it. That was not my problem. Mine was the other red button behind the control panel. Pull off all 4 knobs, unscrew by hand the large black rings that are underneath the knobs, pull out the whole panel. Look back and right (below where the right knobs were located) to find the 2nd red small button. Push to reset. Check this one first since it is easier to do.

Fitted new mainoven thermostat to Stoves Newhome built-in oven & grill Model No. 444445062 Serial No.41209452 other data on plate EFa900h need a wiring diagram, couple wires can adrift. Every thing...

I can only speak for the 720. If you want a circuit/wiring diagram for this one, then I need an email address. I will then register this on my BT Digital Vault and you can the download the whole manual.
Looking at the diagrams, the neon for the main oven has white and black wires.
The white wire from the main oven neon goes onto the same connector on the thermostat block as the white wire to the oven element. The black wire from the neon goes to a common terminal on the top oven neon, which then goes onto P6 of the top oven switch (still black wire).
If you need any more info, then let me know.

I am trying to track down a knob for my multifunction cooker. Stainless cooker with black knobs. Where would I get one?

Hi Andy.

It depends on the oven model. If you can find the model number printed on service tag, you will be able to track the kitchen model.

If you have no model number you can browse a part site, then contact the online sellers to buy a knob that may be compatible.

The broiler works but the bake side wont heat up but does warm

Hi There
I have found some stuff for you to read and hope this will help. Let me know how it goes.
It won't bake Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it. It bakes poorly Here are two instances of when food "bakes poorly:" When the food you're baking is done on top but not on the bottom--or when baking just takes far too long to finish--the bake element may be burned out. You may get fooled into thinking it's working, because the oven is hot inside. But many electric ovens use the broil element, too, during the preheat and bake cycles. So the food may be getting heated only by the broil element, which causes poor baking results. If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem. Otherwise, you need to further troubleshoot the oven's electrical system to locate the defective wire or component. When the temperature is consistent but too high or too low, it could be one of several different things. First check to see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It could be lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This would cause the oven to not heat correctly. If the thermostat bulb is not dislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective. Electronic ovens with a digital display use a sensor to monitor oven temperature. To solve temperature problems for these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-display models, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See your operator's manual for details. Ovens without a digital display often use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. On many of these units, you can remove the thermostat knob and adjust the knob itself to more accurately represent the actual setting of the thermostat. If, when you remove the knob, there's a screw on the back of it with a small calibration plate, you can loosen the screw, adjust the plate, then tighten the screw again. If the knob isn't adjustable, and the oven temperature is off by more than 30 to 40 degrees, you need to replace the thermostat to solve the problem.
Best Regards Richard

Vulcan convection oven has pilot lit and fan blows but no ignition. The schematic is too small, grease smeared and partly ripped to be of use. Is a schematic available or is the cause obvious to an...

The list of problems is as long as the one Obama inherited when he took over. Good news though, the most expensive part works, the blower motor! The pilot is established which rules out a gas issue. The two most common problems are, either the temp controller or the infinate switch is bad. Your unit has one or the other but, not both. Controller has several wires leading to it & has a green or tan circuit board on it, infinate switch is a small black or white 2 inch square box with 4 or 5 wires leading to it. Each one of these are mounted thru the front control panel & both have knobs. Temp board around $180, infinate switch around $45. As far as the schematic is concerned, Vulcan was bought by Hobart & they DO NOT give out schematics or service manuals.
