Colored lines on a copy page

To fix the colored lines on a copy page do the below steps

  1. Disconnect the power cord, wait five seconds, and then plug it back in. This will reinitialize the unit and force the scanner to calibrate again.
  2. Examine the scanner glass and white scan backing. Clean the scanner glass and scan backing if they are not clean. To clean the scanner glass and scan backing, use a soft cloth towel slightly dampened with clean water.
  3. With the product turned on, open the scanner cover and check the bulb assembly. If the scanner bulb is not lit, the unit must be serviced.
  4. Verify that the alignment page is placed on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (if equipped) correctly. Place the printed side down.
  5. Make a copy of the alignment page. The unit will make a copy even if the alignment message is displayed. Compare the copy to the original. If vertical lines appear in the copy, check to see if the scanner assembly requires cleaning. If cleaning the scanner assembly does not correct the problem, service the product.

If it's not blinking it one of: The PHD (Print Head Device), or belt unit, life is coming to an end. Clean the CTD sensor. Try to clean the CTD sensor with a dry cotton swab. The sensor is located on the front cover (inside).

There is a "CTD Calibration Error" at display! where is the "ctd"?

CTD detects the amount of toner on the drum and is used by the printer to determine charge levels required for good image production. It is a part of the transfer belt unit and cannot be replaced on it's own. First try removing and refitting the transfer belt, making sure the electrical contacts are clean and undamaged. If that doesn't work, fit another transfer belt.
