My check vent light is on but is not clogged

Unhook the dryer from the vent and run the dryer. If the check vent light comes on, you have a problem with the dryer (probably the thermistor), if the light doesn't come on, then your venting system is inadequate.

Clothes comming out grey and has a soot like stuff on door and inside drum that we cleaned off with carpet cleaner. Cleaned out lint from under link catcher and it was very black.. How do I clean all of...

Sounds to me like that lint is just about to catch fire good. To clean the dryer itself unplug it and from the backside remove the back off of it. Should be 4 maybe 6 5/16" bolts you can remove with a nut driver. Some have the option for a flathead screwdriver. Now clean the duck ways inside the dryer. Now we need to make sure that this was not an even bigger issue. So once you get the dryer back together, and before you hook the vent hose up to it, plug it in and make sure you get plenty of air flow out that vent on the back. If you do the the dryer is cleared. Also check the ventilation tract in the home itself. This gets plugged from time to time and could have led to the dryer also being so plugged. You can either have a duct cleaning service come check and/or clean it out or if you can find where the vent exit on the outside of your home is. Take a high powered air compressor and put an air gun adapter on it and charge the compressor. Wear proper eye protection and, from the outside, blow that air passage clear. It will make a mess but this is what the duct cleaning service will do when they come out so if you can do this you will save some good money. That black is a sign of that lint catching some real intense heat. I would recommend you take care of this before you dry anymore. I would hate to see a place burn down from the dryer catching fire and it has happened.

Dryer gets hot but clothes come out wet. I cleaned the vent tube and outside and they are clear(there was a lot of stuff in dryer hose), is the clog internal to dryer? How do I get it clear?

I would disconnect the vent tube and run the dryer, if it dries then the vent tube is still restricted. To clean the inside out you will need to remove the door, here is a website that will assist you, Tim:

We have a frigidaire , Gas dryer. Our clothes come out with a hard, baked on greased colored substance, that you can kind of scrap of. There is a vent in the upper back, part of the blower sytem, that is...

Hi, If you don't clean out the lint trap frequently, your dryer may have small lint fires inside the cabinet. The smell from these fires can leave a strong odor in the clothes drum.
Here's what to do:
  • First, clean all of the lint from the inside cabinet and ductwork of your dryer.
  • Have a qualified appliance repair technician inspect the dryer for damage caused by any lint fire.
  • Move all containers of flammable liquids at least 50 feet away from the dryer. Gas dryers have a large flame when operating properly and can ignite the fumes of any flammable liquid or gas.
  • Then, try to clear the odor, by running a couple of loads of old rags or towels.

Black Film on the inside of the dryer drum. Transfers to clothes.

The gas is not mixing properly with the air. You could have a blocked or restricted vent which has caused lint to back up in the machine thus giving you a poor burn. Check your venting and if it is clogged you may need to dismantle the dryer to clean it out inside. :)
