Sounds like you may need to simply update the firmware on the device to replace the necessary files. Though you may lose all the media data you had on your device. Not entirely sure about that.

i put song on to my mp4 player it was work at first them it started acting stupid it wont let me remove songs it says corrupted files for all my song and every time i try 2 switch songs it will take my back to the main screen wat do i do?

I pluged my mp3 into the computer and it asked me if I wanted to format I clicked no and it started up any way and so i cancelled it while it was trying to format now I cant put music on or take music off of my mp3 it just tells me Disk Error!

I have a constant Recovery screen 5 on my PMP (20Gb)
I reset, get the splash screen, get the Windows background, then this black Recovery screen (5) and nothing works nor will it turn off.
I tried updating the Firmware to ver 4.1.03 but no luck.Reset works, but returns to same place with no buttons to exit.
HDD is spinning and quiet (not grinding or whining or screeching like with a crash, so what it MUST be is the boot sector corrupted. I can hear the HDD 'tickng' when RESETTED, so it is reading and loading 'something' it just doesn't finish and boot.
Can anyone help?
URL or Tool to fix? Maybe a place to DL a replacement boot image?

initially,i was experiencing format error when i tried to open some files but i tried to format the player using windows, but i guess it messed it up because i started having disk error messages. Now, i cant even use the mp4player or look for a possible way to reformat it. i ahev even tried mp3 utilities disk tool but it didnt work. Please help me
