I currently have 2 switches on the wall for a ceiling fan(this was pre-installed when I bought my new home, but my Minka

To whom it may concern: I recently purchased a minka aire F-574 BNW concept II wet ceiling fan. I currently have 2 switches(on/off) that are wired for a ceiling fan, however the transmitter only requires a single switch, one of the switches has a red wire and other one does not. Which one of these am I supposed to use and what do I do with the wires from the one that is not used. This is a new home that had a fan mount already installed in the ceiling and I am guessing that the two switches were for a different kind of fan possibly one that has 1 switch for the fan and 1 switch for the light, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ken

The red and white should be hot all the time for the fan to run even when the light is not in use. The black and white wires are used for the switch on the wall to turn the light on. Hope this helps.

Check whether you have a faulty connection somewhere between the switch, fan, and circuit breaker. A short or an overloaded circuit can cause the breaker to trip or turn off. Check to see whether you have loose switch wiring.

Minka Aire model f603 reverse switch?

Not sure what model of fan or manufacture you have. Says Hunter 52" & Minka aire F603. If it's the Minka , Then push the button on the lower part of the remote (6 o'clock). If that doesn't work then you might need a new receiver.

How do I reverse direction on my minka aire f569 ceiling fan

I've got a couple of Minka aire ceiling fans in the home I moved into. The larger one didn't have a problem switching directions using the button on the remote. The smaller one I couldn't get it to switch direction with the remote but in a post above someone mentioned fiddling with the on-off wall switch. So I played around a bit holding down the remote switches for fan speed and reverse direction and flipping the wall switch off and on again and after a couple of tries the fan reversed direction, so thanks for the tip!

2 remotes

Yes, If the receiver is the same model number one remote will work for both... (im assuming when you state remote you are referring to a hand held remote? or are you referring to a wall mount remote? Each ceiling fan comes with it's own electrical unit... I currently have some Minka concept fans if your interested in purchasing at a very good price or if I can help you out in any other way please feel free to contact me at payitforwardx2 @ GMAIL . COM I will be happy to help you in any way I can.

Concept II

Depending on what year the fan was made try looking very close at the actual body of the fan. you may find a small switch you can manually use to reverse the direction of the blades.. I may have some used working remotes that will work with your fan if you like please feel free to contact me at payitforwardx2 @ gmail . com .
