Sounds like you need to put a drop of clear sewing machine oil in the raceway of the hook. Then sew on some scrap material to soak up the excess oil.

SOURCE: using a bernina gold latch bobbin case on the Bernina 435 machine

There isn't a Bernina 435. If you are referring to the 430 than the gold latch bobbin case will not work in that machine. If you are talking about the Bernina 450 the gold latch will work in that machine, with or without the embroidery module.

You probably will need to replace the bobbin case. It is probably only available from Husqvarna Viking. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.

I have a Bernina 770QE. The bobbin (black) is stuck in the bobbin casing (chrome). How do I get it to release?

Take the bobbin assembly loose and turn your hand crank and move it until the hook is at the top. Pull assembly apart and clean the assembly with qtip and sewing machine oil. It will likely be dirty that is causing parts to stick. If the bobbin spring feels weak it may be a good idea to replace it.

How to adjust bobbin tension bernina 150

On the side of the bobbin case is a half moon shaped curved spring with a screw through it securing it to the bobbin case
take the small yellow or red screwdriver that came with your machine and turn the screw clock wise to tighten and counter clockwise to loosen. Correct tension is achieved by inserting a full bobbin of thread, into bobbin case, remove the half moon shaped shuttle from machine, put the bobbin case on to the shuttle, now hold just thread and with a youo motion shake the above and the shuttle and bobbin case should slide down the thread about 12 to 24 inches for correct tension

I have a Bernina Artista 180 that has a spring hanging down inside the door of the bobbin case area . Where does that connect

Your Bernina 180 is a rotary hook model and there is a bobbin case retainer mechanism below the sticth plate that has a long spring on it - it sounds like this has become detatched at one end and may well be affecting the stitch quality. Take the stitch plate out and you will see a black rectangular metal bar in front of the rotary hook mechanism - there is a small silver part in the middle that fits in a slot in the rotary hook bobbin basket - the spring should fit on this and then extend the length of the black bar and pull onto a retainer at the other end so that there is fairly strong tension on the silver part. If not this spring, then it's probably something that's dropped-off from elsewhere and maybe, possibly the feed-dog cam retaining spring. Let me know what you find.

My mother has a bernina 1008 and now that we have taken the bobbin casing out to clean it won't catch when threaded. Any ideas?

Are you threading the bobbin case correctly - the bobbin should rotate clockwise when pulling the thread out under the tension spring. Are you ensuring that the bobbin case is firmly clicked back into position when replacing it. Check your needle is OK. Did you remove the hook from the hook race when cleaning out - have you oiled the hook race ?

Need to know how to thread and use bobbin in Elna 210 sewing machine

I can't see this manual available at the usual spots of:
www.sewingpartsonline.com
www.sewusa.com or
www.diplodocs.com
but you could email either of the first two websites and ask them.

If you look at the threading up diagram here,
http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Elna_Sewing_machine_threading/Elna_225_threading_diagram.htm
it may be sufficient info to get your machine running.

I'm presuming it is a front loading bobbin and case model? Many models are this style Singer, Jones/Brother, Toyota, Bernina, once you've mastered the bobbin case and bobbin, they are all very similar.
If it is a top loading bobbin style then look at the threading up diagrams for the Janomes, it may be more like them. These there is no removable case, you load the bobbin into the bobbin holder and click the thread into the tension spring.

The critical thing for threading up all sewing machines, is winding the bobbin nice and smoothly, getting it into the bobbin holder or case the right way and placing the thread tail into the tension spring correctly so the thread is under tension as it feeds out.
And for the top thread, it must go through the take up lever, tension dial (usually two metal discs that press together with a spring) and then down through the needle eye.
Always, thread up the top thread with the pressure foot up - this opens up the tension device.

Hope this helps out a little at least.

Can you tell me what the bobbin image on the artista 640 means? It will only sew for a few stitches and then stop

Hi, most likely your bobbin sensor is being blocked by something. Common causes are a dirty sensor. Q-tip on the eye of the sensor inside the bobbin door. Or there is fuzz blocking it. Next take out the bobbincase and the bobbin. Look in the bobbincase and you will see a round spring. This spring acts like a brake for the bobbin. Sometimes these springs will get moved and out of position blocking the little space that the bobbin sensor reads through. Reposition the spring so you can see through it and the bobbincase.
That should do it.
Good luck.

I lost the book and can't figure out how to thread the bobbin... it was a gift from my mom and was completely ready to go when she gave it to me...

Hi, after your bobbin is wound insert it into the bobbincase. When you pull the thread the bobbin should turn clockwise. Then slip the thread through the notch and up under the spring. There is a small screw on this spring that adjusts the thread tension on the bobbincase in case you have to adjust it later.
Hope this helped.

Bernina 180 Bobbin case spinning

Its called the bobbin stopper. Pop off your needle plate by pressing on the marked corner. In the back on the left you will see a small allen screw which must have come loose. Position the bobbin stopper in place and tighten that screw. If it already is tight, loosen it and reposition the bobbin stopper in the notch and tighten it back up.
Good luck.
