Question about Panasonic PT-47WX53 47" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

PT47WX53G My problem is the same as someone else on here. I am just trying to figure out what I should try fixing first. When I try to power it on it makes a clicking noise. After a couple of seconds it clicks again followed by 5 flashes of the red power light. I have to unplug to reset the light. I have been told that is could be the flyback transformer or something like that. If someone could give me a better idea as to where to start it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Where can I get a manuel for this HDTV, sad to say but my son passed away and we now have his TV, we were unable to find the manuel, he bought it last last around August. There were children at my house last week and the little 2 yr old found something and scratch the TV, how do I fix that?

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

If you do not have a multimeter it will be very difficult for you to figure it out. If you do get back to me and I can help walk you through some steps. Otherwise, buy a new power supply, would not be worth paying someone to fix.

Convergence on my panasonic pt47wx53g is out of whack. tried setting to default and tried the convergence steps in book. neither worked. red is especially bad. everything looks to have 2 heads 4 eyes...

Did you try the service menu convergence options or are you talking about the basic conergence steps in the manual?

I have had this TV for going on 9 years and would be happy to walk you through the steps.

Problem with Panasonic 47'' HD Projection TV MN: PT47WX53G

You can get a bottle of replacement CRT coolant at the following link. But the spilled coolant will need to be thoroughly cleaned use denatured alcohol and let dry thoroughly as the coolant is corrosive and will destroy the solder, Components and traces of all items affected if not thoroughly cleaned.Heres where to get the coolant for the CRTs.

Had the same issue, I replaced two 1200uf caps on the power supply board and now it works fine again. Remember to replace the caps with caps rated for at least 35wvdc.

Panasonic PT47WX53G Wont turn on or off (light continues blinking) R517 Burned out.

R517 is the auto brightness sense resistor, usually 10K. It fails when the LOPTX fails or the tube flashes over.
