SOURCE: printing blank pages

The reason it wont print, is because you had air get sucked into the print nozzles and then dried up any remaining ink within the nozzles. If you put a new set of ink or the one that your having problems with and do 2 or 3 cleanings and it still does not work, the unit will need to be sent in for service.

It will either require a special cleaning from the service center, or the printhead will need to be replaced.

If you want to try something your self, not as helpful, is to move the printhead manually to the left (you will need to move the locking mechanism back to free the printhead) and fill up the cleaning area with some water. it will be a small rectangular box. fill it up with water (several drops) and the water should peak. then slide the printhead back to the right and let it sit for a few hours. do a couple cleanings, and do a test print.

thanks adi

I'm trying to resurrect an old Epson 1280 Photo Stylus. I've changed ink cartridges, and run the head cleaning/nozzle check utility numerous times, but nothing prints out on any test pages, nor on any...

It's time to "cut your losses"; either the electronics that tells the inkjets when to shoot ink is screwy, or the inkjets are totally plugged, despite the "cleaning" cycles.

Responsibly recycle the printer, and buy a new printer.
Maybe, try to find another Epson that accepts the same ink-cartridges that you recently inserted into the old printer.

My Epson stylus R1900 printer wont recognise an orange cartridge that I bought from Epson, is there a way to fix this ? Lou

Call Epson for a replacement. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

Epson stylus photo 2200 print head removal

Replace the cartridges.
Otherwise, it's unorthodox, but some users have found that this works in your situation. Remove the cartridge, cover the nozzle with a paper towel and use the pointed attachment of a vacuum to clean the dry ink from the cartridge. Be careful not to get ink all over. Then reseat the cartridge and print...

Ink not empty

You have confused the software in either changing a cartridge when not required or having a chip failure whilst changing multiple cartridges.
Full info on how to get out of this is on my site.

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.

The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.

For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.

I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.

Happy trouble free printing
