SOURCE: When I upgrade P4M800PRO-M478 motherboard

hello nepr29

my name is ausi

i had a look at your main board. it is capable of 2gig RAM (maximum). you issue is typically related to the type of
RAM you are using. your posting does not indicate the RAM model.

you have to make sure the
RAM you are using is double sided (has chips on boat sides of it). older mother boards have problem addressing the full capacity of single sided RAM, so it reads only half of it.

good luck.
if this was helpful please vote for me.

I HAVE A NEW CASE, & NEED TO CONNECT THE FRONT UBB & AUDIO LEADS. CAN YOU HELP, CHEERS

Hi there, first check the image below. You've got USB 3 and 4, and AUDIO section. For the USB, pins 1 and 2 represent front panel USB power on both 3 and 4. As for AUDIO connection, pin 1 is Front Panel Microphone input signal, pin 3 is Microphone Power, pins 5 and 6 are for Right Channel audio signal to Front Panel and pins 9 and 10 are for Left Channel audio signal to Front Panel.

You can find more details in the motherboard's manual, page 23 and 24.

ib_ba_87,

Since your using P4M800PRO-M478, I recommend you to read the manual to refer about the pinouts for all the connectors for your motherboard.

Just in case you don't have the manual, here the link for you to download.

Don't forget to rate my solution, thanks!!

Switching ddr to ddr2 memory

re-examine the memory chips.... sometimes swapping slots (still ddr2 slots) will fix the issue. the other possibility might be that you have to set them up in the bios ... if you happen to have the manual for that board.... make sure there isn't supposed to be a jumper on the motherboard that needs to be changed as well.... some ideas to try... in the mean time i'll go look and see if i can find the manual myself and perhaps i'll have found it.

P4M800PRO-M478 doesn't function

I had told you I changed one Fet that positively had burned. I placed a IRFZ48N, a more powerfull transistor, unecessary of couse but the only I had in my old things. But the board doesn't function and so I searched for more damages and yesterday I found two resistances of 0 ohms opened. I changed its by a jumper and power on the MB. Today it is running with a Pentium 4 2Ghz, the OS Windows XP SP2.
