Re: ipod hookup

I believe that you are lucky since the "P" in the model number of the deck indicates and extra input source on the rear of your deck. This is used right now by your changer. You need to replace the changer with the Ipod and you are done. Stereo mini to dual rca's and you are done.

How do i get my ipod to play through my cd player

There are two ways you can use your ipod through your HU.

1. You can use the Aux port (located in the rear of your deck), which you will have to run AUX cable and connect it to the Ipod. Mind you this set up won't charge your ipod. Have to change the source to AUX for sound.

2. Through the USB cable that is included with the system connect your ipod (From the looks of things USB connection is also in the rear of the deck). Hit the Ipod button and that should be all she wrote.

Alpine cde-9870 non-ipod mp3 player AUX FUNCTION

When you press the SOURCE/( ' ) button and select iPod as the source, make sure you turn on AUX+ so that the external device is used as the source. AUX+ is turned off when you want to use an iPod with this head unit.

I don't know why some people thought to answer your question with an answer based on a different model.

Cant find aux conection for ipod function pioneer car stereo deh-p6800mp just need help trying to get ipod playing

there is no direct input on this until. although you can purchase the aux input cable from the link i have posted which will allow you to plug in rca's into the rear. after purchasing2.gif this cable, you will have to turn on the aux option in the menu. which you may want to make sure that you can do beffore you order it.

1.with the power on, hold the source button until the until turns off
2. hold the audio button until a menu is opened. (hold function if audio doesn't work)
3. scroll through until you find the aux option and turn it on.
4. turn on the radio2.gif and scroll through the sources and make sure it is there.
5. buy cable and headphone to rca cable2.gif
or you can order the direct ipod adapter made by pioneer, which will let you control the ipod directly from the head unit itself. whichever you prefer

There is a auxiliary button on the sony cdx-m8800. Is there a way to hook up an IPOD? The stereo also has MP3 written on the inside face. Thanks

Contrary to the below Expert's testimony, the UK CDX-M880 has a REAR AUX connector that will enable you to play your iPod through your car's stereo.

You will not be able to control the ipod's interface through the radio. You will have to use the control on the iPod .

You require a Male 3.5mm extension cable like the following...

a5e60c6.jpg A 4-6 foot length is recommended, as the cable will need to be routed from behind the radio to a place your iPod can be easily manipulated.

Aux for ipod

Make sure this is connected to an Aux Input and NOT an output. You did not mention what manufacturer you have for a head unit, so I'll take a guess.
Is is Pioneer? If so, with the radio off, you'll need to either hold down the "source" button or the "func" button. Scroll to the "AUX 1" or "AUX 2" function and then change it from "off" to "on". Then press source and it should be active.
If it is another brand, you'll need to do a similar process of going into the set-up menu and turn on the aux function. This should enable the feature.
Other than that, the operation manual for your radio can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
Hope this was helpful.

How do I turn on the "external aux" for my pioneer DEH-p7000r

You'll need an adapter cable such as this one:

The adapter cable will convert the changer port on your head unit into an AUX input with dual RCA jacks. Once connected, the head unit will detect the cable and allow it to be another source (i.e. radio, cd, aux).

To connect your iPod to the adapter cable, use any iPod cable or dock that outputs to male RCA plugs.

Ipod cable will not work with the DEH-P3000

Hi, On a slightly different model and only if you would venture to try: with the iPod via cable plugged to the iP-Bus port and the unit powered off but the powersupply on - 1. press and hold for a couple of seconds the Function button (FUNC) or till the clock starts to flash; 2. the arrow keys (left/right) will move you through the different menu settings; 3. the arrow keys (up/down) will move you through the different selection for each setting; 4. look for source, external, AUX, iPod or whatever will be displayed which may refer to an external input; 5. soon as you have enabled/set the AUX, press and hold the FUNC button while turning the unit on. This will save the current setup. Hope this also work for your DEH-P3000. Good luck and kind regards.

AUX inputs

Turn the ignition key to on or accessory position, turn the stereo off, then hold the function key for a couple seconds, the stereo will turn on and you scroll through the menu with the left and right arrow buttons and change settings with the up and down buttons
