Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Do I upgrade my Power Supply

A new power supplu can't hurt anything so long as it's right for your Dell. Some Dells with ATX power connectors are wired in a propiretary way. Make sure which way yours is wired before making the buy.

Power buten not working on dell dhm

Hello this should be the homepage:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/dimension-4700

Here is how to disasemble the pc:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim4700/sm/parts.htm

If i am wrong, search for the model here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/ProductSelector/Select?rquery=fkey-e-Drivers_PS

By selecting desktop, and model number.

A solid amber light is usually a indication of a failed power supply. The fact that you maybe get the light means the button is working and the problem is else where.
Start by removing all the ram and all plug in cards. Then disconnect all the power inputs to all the drives.
If you still get the solid light then its either the mother board or the supply.
But you can order a new power switch, from a dell dealer.
This is rarely happening, so i suspect the power supply, is malfunctioning.
All ATX power supplys fit`s in the case, so it does not have to be a dell.

Best of luck

Dell Poweredge 1800 server not start, i press power button but nothing hapened

Your Model of Dell Poweredge 1800 server may not have a redundant power supply. The power supply is the most like cause of the problem. order a replacement power supply and replace the faulty unit.

Want to replace a power edge sc1420 power supply with a regular atx power supply has anybody done that. Think the ATX connector is the same but on the other connectors there are many blue wires and I don't...

1) Dell power supply is unique , you can never replace with another regular ATX power supply
2) Please get 2nd handed Dell power supply from the same model. try ebay

Battery works but wont charge battery wont run off ac power supply but ac power supply is good will run my other laptop

Hello, you don't mention the model number, but there was an issue with the power connector mounted on the mother board of certain Dell laptops causing the type of problem you've got. Dell refused to address the issue until a group of users in the USA threatened a class action against the company, then Dell agreed to repair all affected laptops and extend the warranties. It's possible that yours is the same problem. Unfortunately, if you're NOT in the USA you wont get it remedied for free. As you don't state the model, I can only speculate that you're having the same problem, but if you google your model type, you may find some interesting reading. And perhaps you're not alone.

My dell dhp will not power up. it just has a clicking sound

Power supply sounds bad. Check power cable, then check if power supply is properly seated to motherboard <- have to open PC -> reseat, if still no power, google recertified power supply for your model.
