The disc spins but doesn\'t show anything. It goes straight to the browser and system configuration screen. It acts like there\'s no disc in it.

the disk itself might be corrupted

The moters probly dead go to like game trader or game stop and have 'em look at it for u.

Sounds like the laser has gone out. The unit will not try to spin unless the laser can see the disc. A new laser can be picked up on ebay for less than $10

Have you tried cleaning the lens? using a DVD disc cleaner or a cotton bud and some methylated spirits.
If that doesnt fix it the lens is knackered, common fault on PS2 consoles.

Have you tried a lens cleaner kit?
This is the CD-ROM with a small brush on it to clean your laser lens head.
This problem has happened to me in the past and this solved the problem.
It is a common problem for any lens reading console.

th game must be scrated badly and your system wont read the disc but cool story dood

In the new console the disk will spin under a variety of conditions

1) The switch located on the circuit board is not pressed down when the case is closed

2) the switch located on the inside front of the disk holder is not pressed down when closed

3) the ribbon tape that connects to the motor is not inserted corredly into the circuit board

the game automactlicy stops when you open the console

every time when i put in the playstation2 it would work well act like it is going to play put it goes to the thing that say browser and somrthing
