Ceiling fan

Remove batteries from remote and press all buttons to eliminate possibility of a "stuck" button. Reinstall batteries or install new batteries and try operation. If no luck, disconnect fan power at the source, not at the fan. Reconnect power and try operation. If no luck, the receiver in the fan may have failed.

Car will not start

you need to look at the smaller power wire from the battery to the rest of the sounds like the fuseable link failed..check the battery connections also.. replace the fuseable link first and test by turning cars lights on..if they work.. try to start it..process of elimination..good luck..

Hunter fan 27185 has lost speed

Remote controlled ceiling fans can suffer a lapse of memory when there is a power outage. You eliminated the possibility of a dead battery in the remote by installing a new battery, but just to be sure remove the new battery and press all the buttons on the remote to eliminate the possibility of a stuck button then reinstall the battery. Next disconnect power to the fan at the breaker box, not a wall switch or by tugging on a chain. Turn the fan power on again. Using only the remote, check operation.

Try putting battery voltage directly to the starter solenoid

If the starter works then the control circuit is not working,
fuse,worn ignition switch,neutral safety sw & such

If you use jumper cables directly to the starter that will eliminate
that if it works

Changed the batteries in my logitech wireless mouse and now it won't work. I've tried using the connect button but it still won't work!

i have to ask: are both batteries the correct way?
do the batteries works if you put them in something like a remote?
i am just trying to eliminate every possibility, because if the batteries are ok and the mouse was working before you changed, then the mouse is really dead, and then you have to go buy a new one

Battery keeps going dead when not on i have put a new battery and 3 new altinators

How long do you leave car standing for??

Need specialised gear to check for this (Ammeter of at least 20amps, voltmeter)

With all doors closed place ammeter across -ve battery terminal (Battery terminal removed. (Be aware BEFORE doing so you will need the stereo code to make it work again)
Measure any current draw. Should be zero. If there is current draw, if its below 1.5 to 2 amps then a light is on somewhere, boot, glove box under bonnet.

To eliminate current draw you may need to disconnect main poer feed to alterantor, which will eliminate it in test.

The battery drops dead every morning.

It may not be your problem, but you could at least eliminate it. Try checking you trunk light and hood light and make sure they cut off when you close them (if equipped). If not, then you wouldn't see them not shut off, and they'd sit there and drain your battery all night.

It could be other things, but I have definately seen this happen before and you should eliminate it first because:
1. It's easy.
2. It's free.
