Question about Samsung Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Samsung HT-E5500W home theater and as soon as I turn it on flips through all the input options. For instance, I watch TV through HDMI1, but shortly after I turn it on and watch TV it switches automatically to HDMI2, then the FM tuner, then the IPOD input etc. I can't stay on one form of input for longer than 5 minutes or so without it switching. I've called Samsung and they just had me reset the original default settings and when that didn't work they wanted me to ship it to them and pay them a lot of $$. So any ideas what it could be? I've checked the cables, rebooted it and reset it to factory default settings and now I'm out of ideas. Thanks.

I have a similar Samsung receiver, and it sometimes does something similar with the volume going up and not stopping until i turn the unit off. It has a similar touch panel like yours. Try wiping down the face of the unit with a baby wipe, thoroughly, and dry it off with a soft dry cloth, preferable micro fiber. Also there may be a small chance the remote may be causing the issue, to test that, remove the batteries and see if the issue persists. Best of luck.

Pls my Samsung hometheater 3D ht-e5500w, is writing protect after few minutes when its being turned on. Pls how can I restart it .

You will need to check any connections especially all the speaker leads. Make certain none of them touch each other. If that doesn't clear it you might have a short circuited device inside the unit.

Samsung Surround Sound & Palsonic TV = no surround sound on TV

Do you have an optical audio output jack on your tv? Some tv's don't output audio from that jack unless you go into the setup menu and turn in on.

I have a panasonic viera flat panel plasma tv and a samsung 5.1 ch blue ray home theater system and the speakers work fine on the home theater system while playing a dvd, but does not work when watching...

1. The easiest solution would be to connect a stereo RCA (red and white) cable to the audio output on the back of your TV.
2. Then connect the other end to the input on your home theater system.
3. Change the home theater system to the correct input.

Good luck!

Need to connect some samsung audio/video components

I'm guessing that you would like all your components to play audio through the HTZ320. In order to get audio from all these components you will need a digital optical cable from the tv optical out to the HTZ320 optical input. And some composit audio cables (red and white) from tv audio out to the HTZ320 aux input. The video and audio from the dish box, bluray, and the vcr are all going to have to go through the tv first and then to the HTZ320. Use HDMI cables to connect the dish box and the bluray to the tv inputs and composit cables (red white and yellow) from the vcr output to the tv input. If you can give the exact model of the tv I can help you sort things out further. I hope this helps you.

Wiring with a sattelite receiver and new Samsung TV

Nope RamaTheMan - you are incorrect! No way to get an actual surroundsound from your TV on this turd - this came straight from the Samsung FAQ -

"You cannot get surround sound from your television. On the other hand, if your television has audio output jacks you can connect your TV or Set Top Box to your Home Theater System and get stereo sound (that is, sound from the left and right speakers of your Home Theater System only).
To connect your TV or STB audio output jacks to your Home Theater System and get stereo sound, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off your TV and Home Theater System.
  2. Connect the Audio Out jacks on your TV to the External Audio Input jacks on the back of your Home Theater System. The External Audio Input connectors are typically labeled AUX IN. Note: There are usually two pairs of Audio Input jacks, AUX 1 and AUX 2. Each pair has a jack for the left audio input and the right audio input. Often, there are two Video AUX IN jacks as well. You can plug the audio cables into either audio AUX 1 or AUX 2. See the following diagram.
    auxin.jpg
  1. Turn on your TV and Home Theater System.
  2. Press the Function Button on the front panel of your Home Theater System until the display on your Home Theater System shows AUX 1 or AUX 2.
For advanced installation, if you are using a High Def STB, you can connect an OPTICAL connection from the STB to the HTS. This is a specified cable that must be purchased separately.
In either instance, you must then set the HTS to its auxiliary input. (i.e AUX 1, AUX 2, DIGITAL IN) in order to get the sound from the HTS.
Note: If your television does not have Audio Out jacks, you may be able to get stereo sound by attaching the Audio Out jacks on your VCR to either the AUX 1 or AUX 2 audio inputs on your Home Theater System. If you attach your VCR to AUX 1 or AUX 2, you will have to tune your television to channel 3 or 4, and then tune to the station you want to watch on your VCR."
