Question about Televison & Video
Your lcd (liquid crystal display) is defective. Wether it's a manufacturers defect or not it may be covered by warranty but this is usually caused from a tv facing a window with direct sunlight or perhaps children using magnets near the display. There is no repair other than replacing the entire display.

This TV uses small voltage regulators. On each side of the regulators is the input voltage and the regulated output voltage on the other side. There are capacitors used for stabilization on the input and output. Change these capacitors.

I spoke with a technician yesterday. I live in Quebec. He told me that he fixed this problem a lot but now it's impossible to find the blue and green tube needed to fix the problem. Some red tube are still available. So basically my Sony TV is now plastic and glass junk. There's hope for those with an extended garantie because they give you a new TV cause it's unfixable. Good luck. Too bad Sony doesn't do anything about this. I'll never buy Sony again...

This is "NOT" meant as "expert" advice...as this is not my area...HOWEVER...I see no one has answered this yet...AND I got some good help from here a year or so ago that worked for me!
When I had a similar "green screen" problem with my SONY projection tv...the guy helped me by having me make "MINOR" adjustments to the red/blue/green etc knobs behind the panel. These were three small black plastic pieces and needed less than a 1/16 of an inch adjustment...try adjusting one at a time and giving it few seconds after each adjustment. It worked for me..at least for a while (till my wife gave it away to a friend because it was "too big"...ah! women!!! LOL)...hope this helps. (NON-expert help!)
