Need back speakers to go plugs been cut on radio

Car stereo speakers usually consist of 4 sets of colors one solid and one with a stripe in each set. The solid would be positive while the stripe would be negative. Easy way to figure out what wires goes where is connect one set and use the balance/fade control on stereo to determine the speakers position. Hopefully this helps . Good Luck

I need to wire my sony cd player into my fiat cinquencento but I have no idea how to wire it in I just spent 23 on a wire for the stereo an it only cost me a tenner for the actual stereo I dont want to...

most car stereos are simple to wire, especially sony!

Main power cable colours are:..
RED = LIVE (+)
YELLOW = MEMORY/SWITCH LIVE it will be next to the red and black cables

You should now be left with a couple of audio out jacks and speaker cables,

the speaker cables are straightforward, most have a twin, ...E.G if you have a grey wire, this should be next to a grey and white (or grey and black, depends on model) wich is classed as its PAIR/TWIN.............

an so forth,, purple, white, brown.....ect ect

each colour havin a twin as stated ealier!! (they are twinned, as the solid colour is usually the negative speaker, and the solid colour with a stripe through it is usually the posative speaker connection (eg..single solid colour is (-)...and...solid colour with stripe is posetive (+)...)

Amp and speakers do not work when stereo is in cd or mp3 mode but does when in stereo mode

you need to use the blue/white wire instead of the solid blue to turn the amp on. solid blue is antenna remote and shuts off when leaving tuner mode. blue/white is amp remote turn on.

How do I hook up the bare wires speakers to the back, sound is coming out not good.

Sounds to me like you might have the polarity reversed. Meaning you might have hooked the positive to negative and the negative to the positive. Positive will will be red negative will be black on your receiver. On the speaker wires negative will always be solid black. Positive could be solid red, black with a red stripe, or black with any color stripe. Make sure you have solid black hooked to black and the other hooked to red. Hope this helps:)

What do you mean by the subs should have more watts than the amp.and subs mean woofer ? actually i dont know any thing abt this. what is 8 ohm stereo, 8 ohm bridged,4 ohm stereo. etc etc...?

If your planning on using a stereo system in your car or home you need to follow some rules otherwise your just wasting money. The watts of a speaker means how much power it can handle. The higher the number the more power it can handle, and usually the louder it can get without distorting. If your amp has more power or close to the wattage rating of the speaker you will blow the speaker, it can even get so hot it ignites. The amount of ohms is the electrical resistance the speaker provides. House speakers usually have 8 ohms where car speakers tend to use 4. 8 ohm stereo means your left and your right are separate channels and each speaker has 8 ohms. 8 ohms bridged means you bridge the left and right channel to increase the power output of the amp and you have to use either 1 8 ohm speaker, or 2 4ohm speakers in parallel to prevent damage to the system. Same goes for 4 ohms. If I remember correctly you want your sub(woofer) to have a wattage rating 20% higher than the amp. Remember if the speaker overheats its no good, but most amps if they overheat they just shut off until they cool off, but only if they state they have a thermal overload protection.

Most common for all car Stereo wire color coding are:

    Solid RED wire = +12V
    Solid Black wire = negative ( - )
Solid Yellow wire = +12V (power ON /OFF) can add additional toggle switch for switching on and off the car stereo

Solid blue wire = Power antenna

the rest of the wires are for car speaker having positive and negative polarity.
note: for the speaker connection wires, all the solid colored wires are positive side (+) of speaker. those solid colored wire with stripe black line are for negative side (-) of the speaker
