If power is not found at the a/c clutch, the relay is faulty. If power is found, suspect a bad ground, or a defective compressor. the relay in your car controls the ac compressor, but check main a/c fuse first, to see if that is ok! is power going from switch to relay. if so the relay is bad. thats why it will not go to compressor. My Cadillac 08 CTS will not blow cold air the relay checked out but when I jumped the relay the compressor kicked in and it blew cold air when I put the relay back in I had nothing tried a horn relay...

there are 3 switches that control the operation of the ac compressor . There is a high pressure switch that will not allow operation if the head pressure goes too high ( excessive gas-blocked system-tx valve condenser fan not working )There is a low pressure switch that stops the compressor when the gas has leaked out and is insufficient A thermostat that will not register and so will not switch on the compressor and finally ac compressors will not work unless both the ac switch and the blower are switched on. Have the system checked out by an accredited ac specialists.;l

My ac stop working,I checked compressor ,it's ok ,no power to compressor

Some possible causes are the system is low on freon, a faulty compressor clutch, faulty low pressure switch, relay, fuse, or control switch.
Do you have power at the fuse and the relay ?

Need a diagram to hook an aircomprerssor for air bags to relay a toggle switch

What is your control voltage? Does the compressor have a pressure switch? Single pole or double throw? AC? DC?

If you mean for airbags for suspension, the heavy conductor(s) to the compressor. is what you will wire to the relay contacts- normally open "N/O" is marked on relay diagram on relay or it's schematic with installation kit. You only need to interupt the hot (+12 volt) side.

And the coil of the relay is simply one side to ground/chassis where ever is convenient, the other side to the switch you want to control the relay and then the other terminal of the switch to the source, either the battery, or the switched accesory power buss on the power distribution center under the hood.of the vehicle.

My a/c compressor isnt getting any power and i have jumped the pressure switch and still no power

You have a compressor relay open the relay and expose the switch this is now a tool (take out the cover of the relay) with cover out and switch exposed insert the relay back engine running A/C switch on the relay should close if and clutch should come on. If it doesnt collapse the switch it self if the clutch compressor comes on you problem reside in the control switch cansmo_103.gifcansmo_104.gif

1996 lincoln towncar. No a/c compressor engagement unless jumped

the control unit is no good.i had a similar situation with a 98 tracker, and installed a switch to give it a ground for the compressor relay that comes from the a/c computer module.
it works good and goes on and off with the a/c switch.

Replacing a relay switch on a Kenmore Side by Side

The start run relay kicks the compressor on. If your compressor is running this is not your problem.
There are a number of things that can cause a fridge not to cool. A bad defrost system.. Check to see if you have ice build up in the freezer, or a lot of frost. Also a bad compressor. The relay switch sits on the compressor at the back of the fridge. If you put a new relay on and it won't start the compressor you have a bad compressor. Most compressors are warrantied through the manufacturer for at least 5 years. So if it's that call the manufacturer for replacement.

Overload relay

The relay mounts on the compressor and has a sliding start switch inside it. If you shake it you should feel the sliding switch within it. I fyou hear nothing or it sounds like a salt shake then it is bad. Newer relays have no way of telling other than you can visably see the relay is burned and can smell it as well. If your compressor is hot as the devil then the relay is stuck in start and both windings are going at once. This will cause the overload to trip and kill the compressor till it cools back down. otherwise the compressor will cool the box albeit intermittantly. If the contacts are disentergraded within the relay the compressor will not run.
