When powering up it starts then shuts off in about 5 seconds?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. //

Not doing quick wash

Possible failure of the controller unit. Check and see if all the other functions are working. If so check the water level control unit as in quick wash the level can be set lower. Also if there is no start on the quick wash program then the program controller needs to be rechecked for output.

Hi, when i turn on the unit the word "HOLD" comes on for a second then the unit turns off.. What is up???

First thing is to check the power supply... dead battery or power adapter will be enough to start unit but quickly give out and turn off. If unit uses Alkaline batteries, do NOT try to use rechargeables as they run lower voltage and fail quickly, especially as they age.

It is getting gas, spark and air but wont start

Does the unit have compression? A quick way to check for compression is to hold the unit up by the recoil starter. It should have enough compression to hold it self up for longer than a second before it SLOWLY lets out the starter rope. If it will not hold itself up or if it falls down quickly the unit does not have enough compression to run. This could be wear in the piston, rings, or in the cylinder. I would take it to a Gold Certified Technician from a Stihl dealership to have it repaired.
Alternately it could also be the flywheel key has sheared and it is firing at the wrong time for the unit to start and run. If that is the case then the flywheel would have to be replaced.

I have a garmin 260W. I brought it home on an airplane to Montana from Long Beach, CA, but it seems to think it's still in Long Beach. How do I get it to get back to Montana...I can't find the manual....

Here's the links to the manual and quick start guide for your GPS unit.

  1. Owner's Manual, Rev. A, Sep, 2008 | Download
  2. Quick Start Manual, Rev. E, Jul, 2008 | Download
Your unit has to be able to locate 4 satellites before it will read correctly. It can take up to 30 minutes to do this.

If you take a 30 minute drive with the unit on, it will locate itself. Thereafter, it will only take a minute or two to locate.

If you found this information helpful, please rate my answer with a big thumbs-up. Thanks!

I have a panasonic dmr-es20d dvd recorder. It has lost all of it's channels today, as expected but when I re-tune it it is not finding any. I have used an aerial socket that was used to successfully...

This worked for me... In the "Others" section of the Setup options, set Quick Start to Off. Then select and confirm the Shipping Condition option. Power the unit down using the unit's on/off button then switch the unit off at the mains. After a few seconds, switch it back on at the mains then turn it on via the on/off button. On power-up, it should (eventually) start scanning, but this time it should find the channels. I usually only need to turn Quick Start off to force a clock update when the clocks go back/forward, but it would appear that with Quick Start enabled, the unit attempts to used cached info about the channel multiplexes, which was obviously invalidated by today's mux re-organisation. Hope it works for you too.

My denon avr-a10se stop working. When I start, aftr thr quick intiation the amp shuts itself and the red power light start to blinvk quickly - please help

This unit is in protect mode. This means that a problem was detected in the last stage of the amplifier section and the unit shuts down to prevent further damage. The most common failure parts are the output transistors. These usually run between $5-$15 each. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.

Problem in accepting the tonner by machine

This is a common problem. You need to be sure that the toner and drum unit are seated correctly. I assume you. You may also want to try a different toner in case the chip is bad on it.

The following has been known to work also. Open front cover leaving the toner cartridge and drum unit in.
Press the Options button,
When "Replace Drum?" comes up quickly press the Start button.
Immediately press the "1" and "0" button. The display will say "Accepted" and the error will go away.
You need to this these pretty quickly.
