Check the front panel control buttons. If any one among is defective, this kind of fault can occur.

Need to change channel to 73 so my dish tv will work, it seems the highest channel tv set will go is 69

We would be happy to help with that. Some TV's do not havethe ability to go as high as channel 73; this may be the case for your (enterbrand here). We would recommend changing the channel that your DISH Networkreceiver outputs the picture for your TV2. Start by pressing the"Menu" button, from the main menu press 6 for "SystemSetup", then 1 for "Installation", and then 5 for"Modulator Setup". Under TV2 we are going to change the mode to"Air", the channel displayed beside it should change to 60, selectdone on the right side of the screen to save the changes. Now change thechannel of your TV2 to 60 and you should get the DISH Network programming. Wehope this helps. Thanks so much for being a valued DISH Network customer! Comcast remote: all of a sudden channel input is slow

Unplug the cable box from the wall socket, wait a few seconds, and then plug it in again. I've heard that this solution works.

Do i need a remote to aquire the av input on the tv

I believe on the Toshiba 14AF44 that you can change inputs by using the channel button on the front of the TV, as well. Either channel down to the lowest channel and then channel down again to start going through the available inputs, or channel up to the highest channel and then channel up again to start going through the available inputs.
Hope this helps!

I have an older RCA television and when I hook the dvd player up to it the tv says unusable signal.

I don't know if this will help. Try changing the tv channel to channel 3. If that doesn't work, depending on which port you plugged into, start at channel 3 and go down in channels. it should change to the different ports you have with every push of the button. to get to channel 3 you may have to use your remote and type in '03'. Make sure your dvd player is on while you do this.

hope this helps

I would like to change the start up channel setting.

if you are using satellite or something that use channel 3 and there are no other channels(cable) do a channel scan from the menu of your tv.if you have an antenna or cable hooked up temporarily unhook it so when you do the scan all it finds is what you have on channel 3.channel scan may also be called autoprogram depending on your tv

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!
