Eureka powerline umc-18 vacuum quit working

The Motor has locked up due to over heating. Once that happens the only way to go is either replace the motor drive or get a new cleaner. Do not try and keep energizing the Vacuum as you could blow circuit-breakers or start an electrical fire.

My phv 1800 doesn't have any vacuum power any longer. I have kept the filters cleaned and emptied. It is still under warranty. What can i do

Good afternoon,

There could be a few different problems with the vacuum, some more serious than others. The great thing is that the unit is still under warranty. My advice would be to contact your local B & D Service Center:
"All Black & Decker Service Centers are staffed with trained personnel to provide customers
with efficient and reliable power tool service. Whether you need technical advice, repair, or
genuine factory replacement parts, contact the Black & Decker location nearest you. To find
your local service location, refer to the yellow page directory under "Tools-Electric" or call:
1-800-544-6986 or visit http://www.blackanddecker.com/."

For further reference, please view a free copy of your manual here:

I hope this starts you out on the right foot. Please rate this solution!

Thanks,
~PCF

Black and Decker PHV-1800: The flapper at the back of the nozzle came out. How can I reinstall it?

I have read other posts which note that while one can take all of the screws out of the nozzle assembly, it seems impossible to separate the blue portion from the white portion so that one can get at the flapper location. It is almost impossible. But not impossible. One can remove the blue portion of the nozzle. After removing all of the screws, gentle pry the blue portion from the white. While doing that, pull and wiggle the blue portion. Some gentle assists from a standard screwdriver proved helpful. With quite a bit of difficulty, and with some fear that something would break (but it didn't), it eventually came off. (There was no glue attaching it.). HOWEVER, to get the blue section back on, it proved necessary to cut off some of the blue plastic in strategic spots so that it could be returned to its original location. A Dremel tool did the job.

Canister turns on but no suction in house

sounds like there could be a clog in the lines, Check the pipes running through your attic/basement, and see if there's something blocking the piping.

If you can't seem to find the problem, I'd suggest looking into having someone who services central vacuums come and take a look. They'd have the proper tools and knowledge to help you in person

My eureka central vac power brush turns off when pushing forward than back on when pushing back. Ever seen this before?

Yes I repair them all the time. What that means is that the connection of the hose handle to the power brush upper wand is loose. This can happen over time with use. The connection just loosens up. Do you have the exact model of the power brush?

Where can I get a new power head and hose for this vacum

The Eureka central vacuums generally have standard inlets. You can use any brand with what you have. The most important thing you will need to decide on is electric vs non-electric. The brands attachments I would recommend are Imperium, Beam, and Centec. The Eureka attachments aren't bad, they just don't give you as many options.
