Ribbon electrical connectors? Usually there is a lock right where the ribbon goes in. Lift the lock all around, and the ribbon is free. Reset the lock when the ribbon is replaced, straight and true.

if the carriage position ribbon is broken/disconnected, it is cheaper to replace the printer than it is to buy parts or have it serviced, unless it is under warranty, in which case you contact Dell 800-624-9896 USA
The error code F-14 indicates that the ribbon connector between the touch pad and the electronic oven control is disconnected. The recommended repair is to disconnect the ribbon connector from the electronic oven control and re connect it firmly.
If this doesn't correct the error code the recommendation is to replace the electronic oven control.
If you want to attempt this repair yourself, disconnect the power to the oven and open the door. Remove the three screws above the oven door that are holding the bottom of the control panel to the oven frame. Pull the bottom of the control panel out about 1 inch and down and it will release. The ribbon connector is a flat tape like cable, and there is a latch arm that you have to release before you can disconnect the ribbon.
In the back of the printer is an access panel with one screw to hold it in place.
The outer side edges are held in place with it plastic tabs (which you
can not see due to they are inside the printer. So carefully remove
this panel without breaking the tabs. Look inside and you will see a
ribbon connecting to a circuit board. This is probably loose or
disconnected. The end of the ribbon is hard and not flexible. Push the
end of this ribbon in the white plastic standoff slot. This ribbon
sometimes comes loose when the top scanner cover is partially remove
from the printer. I said, partially because if you needed to remove the
top scanner completely, then this ribbon would need to be completely
disconnected. You can also see, when the access panel is off, other
wire connections connected to this circuit panel. Sometimes they also
come loose or disconnect when the top scanner is partially remove.
Connect them if they are loose or disconnected. I believe to solve your
problem is the ribbon disconnected. Best wishes in solving your
problem.
It sounds like a possible bad connection on the upper or lower drive board.
You could disconnect power, remove back cover (carefully it will have sharp edges) and disconnect the ribbon from the plasma panel to the circuit boards on the top or bottom of the panel.
these ribbons are held down with a lock type conector of different types. Inspect carefully before unlocking connector, once unlocked and ribbon is removed look for any damage to the contacts then reinsert ribbon and lock connector.
If this doesn't work then you will either need to replace to drive board or the plasma panel
First, you need to be able to solder, ask your dad to help. You need to attatch the ribbon to the ribbon cable socket by soldering the metal together. Good luck.
