Sounds like the motor has burnt out, you can try to turn the motor manually after you unplug it, if it won't turn or is hard to turn, you will need to replace the motor

Where can I download an instruction manual for a Royal MC5 - 5 sheet maximum microshredder? How do you fix a tight paper jam?

Hit reverse if got one, or take it apart carefully cuz it's sharp, remove blades and try to clean it then, it's like replacing the cutting wheels they called I think, make sure your motor is not fried. Good luck

My saw stops rotating during cutting

does the motor stop? If not the gears are worn between armature and spindle. If it does stop you could be applying too much pressure trying to cut with a blunt blade or there is an armature fault.

Paper jam on screen will not reset

To clear the error message Paper Jam after you removed the jammed paper, open and close the scanner cover.
If you still receive the error message, a small piece of paper may be stuck inside your Brother machine.

Refer the below link for the steps to remove any ripped paper remaining inside your Brother machine:

Saw just cut out while i was ripping timber, i gone to restart it again and it wont pick up speed, i start/stop and sometimes it doesnt start you get a buzzing coming from the motor, its almost like it...

This not sound sound good, if there is a circuit board with over load protection and soft start this may well be at fault, it could also be a motor issue, this is a job for an electrcian.

While cutting a 2x4 at a 45 degree (small load) the motor quit after 12 inches. seems like i should be able to rip a 2x4

How would you rip 12 inches if your riping a 2x4 on a 45 secondly the blade of that saw and weather or not you were cutting through the grain on treated lumber. But if all that has been checked chances are one of the brushes on the motor need replacing. there are usually 2 black caps on both sides of motor that have replaceable brushes if one stops making good contact you get half power when cutting. You can check them and or replace if needed.

Insinkerator stopped working. Cutting plate rotates freely. tHE RESET BUTTON IS STUCK IN THE "ON" POSITION.

If the reset button is stuck in the on position and can not be reset, the motor has an internal overload and will need to be replaced. Turn the power off to the motor via switch or circuit breaker, let it cool for awhile, the hit the reset button again to see if it resets. If it does, turn off the power at the breaker and leave it off. At this time, you need to dislodge a jam on the rotary vane that shreds the waste, there is something most likely stuck on the vane, causing the motor to overheat. There should be an allen wrench socket area in the middle of the underside of the motor housing, use an allen wrench and turn the motor manually back and forth, to release the jam. Again, be sure the power is OFF!!!

I was cutting a piece of timber when the "off cut" got jammed and the blade got wedged.I stopped straight away but there was a faint smell of burning and the saw has not worked since. Is there a cut off...

There is no reset button on your motor. Sounds like you have a fried motor. You should be able to easily remove the motor for inspection. Remove the 4 screws holding the motor onto the frame. Be sure to remove your brushes before taking the motor off. After removing the motor, you should be able to take the armature out easily. If not, you know that the armature and field are swollen from heat and the entire motor assembly should be replaced. May not be cost effective at this point. If you can remove the armature check for damage to the field and armature. Look for burn marks and comm bar damage. There may be a short in the field or armature and for that you need a special tester. If you have any questions please post.

Infoguard shredder jam

When you set it to reverse, it Should propel the paper back out the top, where it's jammed. If it does not, remove power to the unit, and get ready for the long laborious process of removing the jam with a pair of tweezers. A hazard of paper shredders, maintenance can be a bit on the silly side.
