Question about Sony KV-32FS12 32" TV
So, it turns out that my Sony KV-32FS12 WEGA TV doesn't like being repeatedly squirted with water from my 4 year old's squirt gun. Apparently (based on the technical report from my wife), the TV started "freaking out", which with further interrogation, I determined to mean the Video Source kept cycling through all the sources. Also, it would not power off. After letting the TV dry for over a day, I tried it again with similar results. It will run okay for a little while, but then the video sources keep cycling. Also, during this "freaking out" phase, it will not accept input from a remote control. Being the rocket scientist that I am (no, really, I am!), I cracked the TV open and inspected the circuit boards for damage. I noticed water residue on the bottom of the main (biggest) CCA, on the leads for an integrated circuit with the part number 91A116HDF (1-431-851-11). There was also a little scorching around the edge of the component on the top side. So... my question is, would this apparently damaged component likely result in the behavior that I'm seeing. And, if so, where can I get another one of these integrated circuits? Thanks!!
Stop!Clean area around all tactil switches and replace any that are defective. One or more of your function select switches up front is shorted---sending a continuous signal to the micro IC.Good, used switches are fine, but must have same physical parameters as originals.
