What does the locking piece for a loose pinch roller look like? Does it go inside the roller (about the same length of roller) or just on the top of it?

Thaks for helping. My tape deck door has suddenly stopped working. the tape is inside and when i turn on the wpower there is a clicking sound. it is a TEAC AD-500 CD player/reverse cassete deck

Without physically looking at the cassette deck myself, I cannot be 100% sure the tape is wrapped around the pinch roller and capstan. The capstan is the chrome rod which the rubber pinch roller pushes to regulate the speed of the tape moving across the head. However it is approximately a 90% chance the take up reel for the tape stopped working from a bad tape or a loose belt which drives the tape take up reel. The clicking sounds like it could be the auto reverse solenoid because it thinks the tape has reached the end of play. The fun part is to remove the tape which you may have to disassemble the front panel if you cannot gain access to the tape from the top or bottom. You will need to cut the tape and remove it from the capstan and pinch roller to open the cassette door. Sometimes you can remove the capstan to free the tape. Once you have cleaned all the tape out of the unit make sure the belt for the take-up is good. If it is glazed, cracked, loose or broken order a belt. Clean all the pulleys and capstan and replace the belt. Your unit should be functional after the above procedure.

My printer will not pick up paper. I have tried cleaning the rollers and blowing dust out with an air can. Is there anything else I can do? The problem started suddenly. I printed a document and then...

if you have cleaned your feed rollers with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth... and dried the rollers off... then your next step is to replace them... nothing else...

Loud noise that sounds like a train coming from drum

Check inside the drum for loose plastic bars that run front to back. You will need to release the top to tighten them if they exist. With top open, check the drive belt condition and replace it if it is cracked, pieces missing, or running loose. To release the belt, open a panel in back and release whatever creates tension in the belt (usually remove a large spring). With belt off, turn the drum by hand to check the rear bearing and whatever provides a bearing for the front edge of the drum--some dryers use plastic plates on the cabinet side for the drum to turn on, and others have actual rollers that the drum turns on. If rollers, check each one for missing pieces or warped surfaces of the rollers. If plates, check each one for wear through to the metal. Hope this helps.
