Thought I was stung by sweat bees, might be small ground hornets. Do baby ground hornets sting? Can't find photo of small ground hornet to see if that's what stung me. Can you help me out? Thanks! Gia

Sweat bees do hurt...but, I do not swell up when I am bitten ( I have BAD allergic reactions to bees, wasps.. etc -- hospital trip bad!!), ...Yellow jackets nest in the ground.. they hurt and make me swell up and grant me a trip to the hospital ..especially if I get stung by more than one..(of anything)... this is probably what got you... did you run over them while mowing?.. this is a COMMON way to stir them up!! ...and they like to attack in swarms.

Prevent and treat bug bites

There's a reason that insects are called pests. But despite the itchy ,red bumps they leave behind, insects bites are usually mild and the itching goes away in a day or so,specially the bug bites come from mosquitoes or biting flies. On the other hand(legs, arm or toe.....),bees,wasps and fire ants tend to cause more irritation and can some time lead to bigger problems.
Bug bites can be avoided,or at least minimized,by following a few precautions for common out door pests. The first line to defense against to plan ahead-always evaluate your surroundings and prepare accordingly if you anticipate large numbers of insects. Its always a good idea to apply insect repellent with DEET or PICARIDIN.If you r concern about using chemicals, particularly around children, you might want to try lemon eucalyptus and citronella oils, which also work.

I need an exterminator to come to my apt. The problem is I don't know what's biting me. It doesn't seem to fit any of the bite pictures I have looked up on various sites. What do I do?

Start by inspecting for bugs/insects or signs of them. You can get spray for indoors and carpet treatment. Put some large glue traps out in corners or under your bed. It'll catch things and could give you an idea of what's in there.

Look at bugs

Seriously?

Science has named and classified about 1 million distinct species of insect. You expect someone to name a million insects for you, so you can then go name a few bugs at school. Get real.

Do your homework properly. Get a book from the library and do some reading. You might learn something.

I keep finding isects in my bottom cupboard in my kitchen ilive on th e first floor apartmenti only keep dishes in this cupboard the insects resemble a cater piller but smaller a dark grey brown colour ...

If it was an insect, it wouldn't be a caterpillar, nor would it have lots of tiny legs (insects have 6 legs). Just a little tip.
could be either a potato bug
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armadillidium_vulgare
or it could be a millipede
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millipede
I would go to a store and get something that can kill any bugs.
I would check with an exterminator as a last resort.

How can I prevent caterpillars and black insects from thriving on nasterciums

Try soaking cigarette butts in water and then spraying the liquid on the plants. This is a common home remedy used to kill bugs. The nicotine from the tobacco is absorbed by the bugs and kills them.
