How to fix sound problems

Sometimes your volume is fine, it's the website or video that has the volume turned off. For instance, if you scroll your pointer over the video, it will show you their volume control and it may be muted. If this isn't the case, your speaker is gone and you need to take it to a PC repair shop.

What colour wire does what with Samsung in ear earphones

This is an educated guess.
You should have 4 rings around your 3.5mm connector. From the tip to the base of the connector....
#1 - left audio - Black
#2 - right audio - Red
#3 - Ground - bare copper
4# - Mic/volume - green/brown
The wires for the left and right channels (pins 1 and 2) and the ground, (pin 3) should run from the connector through the volume control, to each ear piece. The mic/volume wire should terminate at that control. although it could connect to more than one place within the control.
You may be able to open the volume control, gently, and see which wire stops there and which continue on through.

I hope this gives you enough information to complete your project.

The volume control knob has been acting strange since a few years ago on my Creative Labs Inspire P7800, i.e. turning the volume up will first decrease THEN increase, it will never be consistent going...

I hope the fix is this easy. Have you thought of trying “WD 40 Specialists Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray” or similar product to clean electrical contact points.

This might help if the contacts around or under the control knob or push buttons have any type of residue, visible or not like dust, dirt, condensation anything that might interfere with electronic connections.

Especially if you notice any static or scratchy sounds when you’re trying to adjust the volume.
It needs it if you’ll notice when trying to adjust the volume it jumps all over the place from high to low erratically. It’s just a thought. An easy fix if that’s the cause.

Other companies make this spray. You can get it at places like Home Depot or an electronic supply store.

Volume Control Unit has gone bad

The volume control is nothing more than small complicated rheostat.
If you don't know electronics take it to a radio repair shop. Just tell the repair guy to build you a new one using the old cord. That is if the cord is not what is bad! Take the entire unit with you. For a trained repair man it should be a easy thing to rebuild. I own a P7800 and if the control unit should break that is just what I would do.

Yamaha RX-V800 volume control

i would say that the component that controls the sound level (called a potentionmeter) or (varible resistor) is either broken or faulty....you will need to remove the cover and inspect the area around the volume control just to make sure it is not broken or that any wiring has just become dry jointed....if all is good then what i would suggest to do is to find out the value of the pot...normally there around 10-50K then youll need to get a replacement...if this still dosen't fix it or your confident enough to look or fix it yourself i would take it to a local electronics repair shop....remeber to disconnect unit from power before removing cover hope this helps, ben

Yamaha RX-V800 volume knob on receiver not working.

It sounds like the volume control pod has gone bad and needs replaced (The knob shaft connects to the pod main body and the inside of the volume pod is what controls the rate of volume,If the inside becomes worn ,broken or dirty the volume will become erratic) Replace volume pod ! ..You may try cleaning by taking off the volume knob and getting a can of pressure air and blowing the dust out!
Please rate response!!

No volume

You need to check the settings and also check the connection from receiver to five speakers .

5.1 surround sound

Here is how you fix it. Its really easy actually take a look at your Subwoofer 99% of the time you can control two controls for your bass somewhere around the Subwoofer. If you raise the volume of your Subwoofer you'll get more bass. Try it and let me know how this works out for you alright.

Most likely its the amp. This unit was around $1200 back in a day. And it still produces sounds better then many recievers in stores today, too bad it has no 5.1ch surround.anybody have a solution pls let me know, for now i have a weak pioneer with 5.1 but no power.
