Question about Wildgame Innovations Micro Red 8-W8e Trail Camera

Open Question

I have the WGI Micro 8 Red scouting camera and the LED screen flashes LOCK when I power it on. Ive made sure the SD card isn't locked, and even tried 5 other memory cards with the same result. It was working great, I took it back out to the woods and that's when the problem started. I reset the camera, and done a hard reset via customer service, and still cant get past it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Do i have to use a memory card in wildgame innovations w4f wgi camera

Is this information not contained in the manual ? If you have no manual, you can download a manual for almost any equipment by Googling the make and model followed by the word Manual, then follow the appropriate link(s).

SD cards (and most microSD adapters) have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

And yes, formatting the card will delete all the pictures on it.

My 5130 micro sd card of 8 gb has been locked

Hello Ashutosh,

By lock, do you mean password locked? Or just locked? Check your micro sd card for a small switch and make sure it is not set to lock. If there is not switch, try formatting your sd card.

Note: All files will be deleted from your sd card once you format it.

I hope this helped you.

My micro sd card is locked how to unlock

Hi, i have here a photo that will show you on how to remove write protect on a micro SD.
1. You need to insert your micro SD into an adapter. 2. Unlock the micro SD through your adapter as shown below. 3. Once done, your micro SD is no longer write protected. eibraz_16.jpg

NOTE: The lock switch doesn't lock the micro SD into the adapter; The lock switch doesn't lock the data on the micro SD; The lock switch simply tells the "user" not to write. It just says "please, don't write me."

Hello there!

Well somehow data on your usb flash is write protected, maybe before you locked part of your usb pen drive and losted that encryptor software on your usb.

Solution is next, find any software for formatting usb flash memory sticks, force format it and there you go. Thats about it! =)

Card Error

If you should see the warning message "CARD ERROR" in the LCD Display, please check the following: Always choose reliable quality SD Cards. Toshiba Digital Cameras are tested for maximum performance with Toshiba SD Cards, Delkin SD Cards and Panasonic SD Cards. These are leading brands in the development of standard SD technology. Performance by other brands of SD cards may vary. Check the LOCK switch on the SD Card. The camera can not save images to an SD Card when it is in the lock protected position. If the SD Card is NEW, it may be necessary to FORMAT the card. This only applies to NEW SD Cards. If you format a card with images, all images will be erased. You can FORMAT your card periodically to maximize capacity and erase 'unseen' files, please be sure to download all images before choosing FORMAT as all images will be erased. Your Toshiba Digital Camera is designed for use with SD Cards. MultiMedia Cards are similar in size and shape to SD Cards, although with close inspection you will find that SD Cards have a different 'PIN" connection configuration, are slightly thicker in size, and have a manual slide LOCK switch on the side. Toshiba Digital Cameras are not designed or guaranteed to accept MultiMedia Cards. Please be sure to look for SD Cards from Toshiba, Panasonic and Delkin, the leaders in SD Card Technology.
