Question about Cannondale Scalpel 4

1 Answer

Stiff wheels I bought a new Scalpel 4 in 2013. The wheels doesn't run smoothly. The salesman told me, that i must run in the wheels. I never heard it bevor, that i must run in bike wheels. It has something to do with the hub. Is that right? I ride 300 km and it is not better. My Shimano wheels from my other bikes run and run and run....

How hard are you cranking down on the quick release skewers? Overtightening the skewers can bind the bearings in some press fit hubs.

My esante model ESI-2 has become very stiff while I am sewing. It is difficult to turn the balance wheel. I have cleaned out all of the lint but it still doesn't run smoothly and easily. Is there...

hi, when the balance wheel is difficult to turn, the machine is letting you know there's a problem, it may only be minor but minor problems are easier to fix than big problem & less costly
since it's a baby lock esante I would really suggest that the machine needs to be checked by a repair technican, that can give the machine the check up it needs

I have a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue; i went to go get new brake pads and when i got in my car to leave from the shop my wheel was stiff. I told the shop and basically they cleaned out my power steering fluid...

If the power steering was ok before the brake job, I would suspect something went amiss while the mechanics were working on the car. And why, when you returned to the shop, would they clean out your power steering fluid? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing that before. Unless they knew there was something wrong with the power steering fluid. This may sound crazy, but I'm thinking they topped your power steering reservoir off with hydraulic brake fluid when they were working on your brakes. If, in fact, they did put brake fluid in the power steering, changing the fluid would only remove the brake fluid from the reservoir. The rack and pinion assembly would still have the contaminant inside it, which could cause the steering problem you described.

We have become so frustrated with the front wheel on our new dash stroller....I was so excited when I finally got this stroller because I had tried 2 other double stroller and they broke in the first week....

hi there. i just had this same problem. and to be honest i am unsure of EXACTLY what the problem was, but i just took it into the store of where i bought it and told them that it wouldnt turn, or became really stiff. only way i could push the pram as well at most times was to lift the front wheel off the ground.
i took it in and they took it out the back and about 10 minutes later they bought it back to me all fixed. i also had one of my friends had the same problem and she took hers in.
Just take it back, and say you didnt spend this much money for it not to do its job and they should fix it for you. you do have a 12 months warrenty on it so should not cost you a dime. good luck.

I have a 1994 Dodge van. Sometimes it steers smoothly and other ties I have to forcibly turn the wheel. Fluid is full, belts are tight. How do you determine if it is the pump?. I have heard no whining of...

If this occurs only when it is cold.... stiff steering then snaps loose, and problem goes away hot,, then it is commonly termed "morning sickness" and needs a new rack and pinion unit

Phil & Ted's Vibe very stiff front wheel

I am onto my third Phil and Teds Vibe due to issues with the front wheel. It never ever worked smoothly from the moment it was assembled. The first time the UK distributors Outnabout replaced the pin - no help. The next time they replaced the entire no buggy. The new buggy is exactly the same - stiff front wheel that is back breaking to turn and squeaks loudly. Interestingly, I am waiting for Outnabout to send some lubricant that Phil and Teds have recommended; despite being told by the retailer in no uncertain terms NOT to use lubricant. I plan to return the third and final buggy and ask for a full refund or partial refund and replacement with a Sports buggy model. The wheel mechanism is different on that one. Good luck. As you can see, I am all out of answers.
