Se830 digital receiver

The LNB connector should have voltage on it to provide the power supply for the outdoor LNB. Right now when I measure the coaxial cable connector, there is no voltage, what part may be bad ?

Remember to swtich the LNB power to ON in the setting menu.
if still no power, there is a power module on the board. may not be economical to repair

60PN5000 LG turns off after about 3 mins. Power supply board?

Could be, but other boards can pull down a voltage too. To find this measure all the different voltages on the power supply board. If they are all present and correct then the problem is elsewhere. If you have a lower voltage, remove a wire connector going to another board and re measure the voltage. If the voltage returns to normal, then the board that that wire connector goes to is the problem. Do this again with each of the other connectors on the power supply board. If, after you have all the connectors removed and the voltages don't come back, then the power supply board is bad. Bell 3100 satellite receiver

purchase a new receiver or previously owned , make cretin that there is no previous bill owing on the receiver, there is not much help regarding repairs, and it is legal to tamper with the unit, if you are tech go for a FTA receiver , that is illegal as well. the receiver might have a fault with the LNB power supply, it should provide 19 or 13 volts respectively to the LNB Feed assy for polarity assignment

My compter is dead, and I just want to verify if it is the power supply, motherboard, or power switch. I have a EG351P-V. If I completely remove it from the computer, plug it in, and turn on the switch on...

No, don't start shorting anything yet! Here's a picture of the power connector:

pgh_pa_guy_11.jpg

Turn on the power switch on the supply, then short the green PS_ON pin (pin 14 or 16 depending on the style plug your supply has) to the black ground pin on either side next to it. DO NOT short across the plug to pin 4.

If the supply is working, this will cause the fan to start up and you can measure output voltages as shown on the diagram. (In fact, this is how the motherboard turns the supply on. The supply provides a 5-volt standby output as long as it's plugged in and turned on to keep the motherboard running to detect the power button. When you press it, the motherboard provides the PS_ON ground to fire everything else up.)

Be aware that without the load provided by the motherboard and other parts of the system, you may be able to measure output voltages (especially if you're using a digital meter) that may not be sufficient to run the system under actual operating conditions. Bad capacitors can cause the voltage to drop when loaded, and this will cause the dead system or other strange troubles. The best way to determine if a power supply is causing problems is by substituting a know good one into the system.

LNB went bad replaced and unit worked for the people for four days and LNB appeared to of went bad again. This time i measured the voltage to it and it was 33 volts instead of the recommended 13-18volts.

if you take the cover off the receiver and look at the power board you will find evidence of overheating and probably some capacitors that are bulging. it's probably cheaper to buy a new receiver unless you are able to start replacing parts yourself. I found a overheated board recently that came from factory with R30 missing.

Check the flex cables on the buffer boards. be sure to disconnect power supply from the sustsin boards before removing cables. If not panel is bad. Check VA and VS voltages. The voltages are listed on the panel back. Measure on the connector of the power supply. Adj are on the power board. Measure with respect to ground. Be sure all connectors are reconnected before power is turned on.

We have a satellite and wish to connect 1 Sky TV and 3 Freeview receivers. We have installed a 4 way splitter but it will only take 1 sky and 1 freeview. As soon as we plug in another freeview, the power...

No the 2 receiver must be set. The supply going to LNB must switched off letting only one Freeview receiver supply to LNB is "ON". Meaning the one that give supply to LNB is the master receiver if you sw. it OFF the remaining2 can't receive programme.

DTV H20-600

You could check the voltages yourself to see if they are low. The horizontal polarity needs about 19 volts and the vertical polarity about 14 volts to work properly. If those voltages are lower by 25%, the receiver might failed to scan and that is when it locks up because is trying to find signal. The other issue could be a defective power supply if the receiver does not work after that 4 hours. There could be some capacitors that lost their dielectric strength causing the drop in voltage.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

The voltage is supplied by the power-supply through the RF/IF interface usually encased in a metal box on its own. Also without knowing the model number of your unit I cant help any further.

Directv h20 receiver has low volyage to the lnb.

Check inside the receiver for a defective LM317 IC or a TIP42C transistor, but before that you should check for proper voltage from the power supply to that IC.
LM317/TIP42C control the switching of voltages that power up the LNB, you should be getting 14 volts for vertical channels and 18 volts for horizontal.
Good Luck.
