My lawn mower starts but it is slow and then dies

Hi Debbie,

Most problems with gasoline powered equipment are related to the carburetor. This happens frequently if this equipment is not stored for the "off season" properly. Fuel remaining in the equipment can form varnish that will interfere with movement of carburetor's internal parts, clog the tiny orifices, etc. Often, disassembly and through cleaning with solvents and clearing clogs will return the engine to good running order with little to no need for replacement parts. Making adjustments to the screws and springs on the carburetor is looking for trouble - don't do it. The carburetor is a simple device - but has some pretty small parts that are easily lost of you're not expecting them to fall out during disassembly. Your best bet is to have the mower serviced by a pro. If cleaning is all that is required, it shouldn't cost more than $50 - $75.

You can save yourself this headache next year by either running the engine until it is out of fuel - or removing any fuel from the tank and then run the engine until all remaining fuel in the lines and carburetor has been used completely. This is a good time for an oil change and maybe even a new spark plug. If you didn't do it last year, you might want to have the pro do it for you when he works on the carburetor.

Good luck!

Craftsman mower backfires out the exhaust when starting warm motor

Sounds like it is letting unburned fuel thru the carberator and getting ignited by the hot exhaust. Your carb is out of adjustment or could be worn out.

I have a ZTS 7500. How do you know if your dip stick tube is leaking?

Clean off engine with brake clean and then start, while someone watches front of engine. And yes the dipstick tube may be the leak. This link should help. http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0709063.pdf

My fridgidaire gas dryer wont Start

The belt could be stretched. The motor runs but can't overcome the inertia of the drum to achieve rotation.

My Kenmore top load washer..model#2600*010,2601*010...is stuck on sensor will not start a wash.I have checked for loose wires and hoses nothing was wrong with them nothing is clogged....what else might be...

is the device trying to fill with water ? it will not continue through its programmed cycles until the drum is full of water

If not than the device is waiting for water, Check the water fill valve with a continuity tester it should show continuity across the 2 contacts if the valve is OK than check the water level detecting device it will have a thin hose attached to it this could also be faulted or the tube to the device is plugged with soap residue and give a false full drum reading to the device, it could also be a faulty water levels selector switch.

Try this and let me know what you find

Best regards Falco

Craftsman Lawn Tractor runs with the Clutch Push in.But when I let it out it Dies. Why?

The switch under the seat is not working. The switch needs to close to allow the engine to continue to run when the clutch is released. This is a safety thing in case you are knocked off the tractor. Check the wiring, connection, and the switch.

Kenmore dryer

The bit the keeps the switch locked is probably broken. You'll have to replace the switch and the dryer should be fine again.

Won't start/run. CLEAN light blinks continuously. manual drain (CANCEL)button works model number DU1100XTPQ9

When the clean light is blinking, the self-test on the dishwasher has reported a problem with the heating circuit. It needs to be fixed. If the dishwasher is still under warranty, call for service.

The manual for the DU1100XTPQ9 is here: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/4164/WHIRLPOOL-Dishwasher-L0704454?brand_name_search=DU1100XTPQ9+WHIRLPOOL . Various parts diagrams and links to purchase the parts are here http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-DU1100XTPQ9/1198/0130000 .

I hope this helps.
