Sunlighter hot tub

When my tub requires heat i can hear a click and the pump starting for a second, then nothing , then another click, then somwtimes it will start and run for a few seconds or even a minute, then shut off. Then it will just sit there and keep clicking on and off like its trying to start the heat pump, but just won't start. I can run the jets and they all work fine. its just the heat pump/jet thats having the problem

Sounds like the pump motor is tripping out on thermal overload. Touch that particular motor just after it shuts off. If it is "very" hot to the touch, it probably needs replacement.

is the spa fitting leak dripping on a motor? If so this will cause your breaker to trip.

SOURCE: my breaker is conected to

I am assuming this is a GFCI circuit breaker? If it is it will have a "test" button on the breaker. When you say "jets" i'm assuming you mean when you turn on the blower to make the air bubbles? It could be you have a problem with the blower motor. When you start the blower, it trips the breaker. Be sure the blower is in off position when you reset the breaker. The most common fault though on a spa/hot tub is with the heater. If the element goes bad, and current flows to ground, it will trip the GFCI breaker. Again try and turn all functions off. Reset breaker, and then turn on one at a time till the breaker trips. First the pump, then the heat, then the blower.

SOURCE: I have a GE two

Disconnect both hot leads from the breaker at the box. Using an ohmmeter measure the resistance to ground or the neutral bar in your box. If the resistance is LESS than about 50 K you have excessive leakage current. It is unlikely the motor is the problem. I would check the wiring and switching for the leakage. Now to the second problem: If you switch between speeds while the unit is running, the GFI will LIKELY trip. This is normal as you create a massive transient that the GFI PROBABLY can't handle. There are a couple things to try: One is using a two pole control switch and turn off the pump before "switching gears" ... as an electrical engineer I can't explain this unless you can understand electrical transients AND capacitive coupling between the windings and the case of the motor. I realize you may have a combination speed and on off switch so you MIGHT have to add a switch. Ideally I would want a relay for on/off near the breaker that momentarily disconnected before shifting gears. The next fix possibility involves a trick we use to control transients in electronics. This involves noise control by using a toroid around the pair of hot wires. This MIGHT take several turns through a good sized ferrite toroid with both the hots in the same direction, side by side. This forms what we call a "Bi-Filar" choke. Look that up on Google to understand the principle... it essentially helps balance the currents in the hots and isolates them from ground for transients.

I have a Jacuzzi J340 Hot Tub. I am having trouble with the heating. When the pump is on, the water circulates just fine. once the heater kicks on, it runs for about 10 seconds, then clicks to OH, and...

make sure the heating element isnt touching the casing inside the heating tube. if its an indoor tub, make sure the filtration cycles are not set to constant. constant filter cycles on an indoor tub will generate residual heat from the circ pump running 24/7, causing tub to heat past 104 degrees

Gaggia Titanium. Fault suggests ventilation required. Followed manual instructions, nothing happens. Tried rinsing, nothing happens. Tried hot water nothing happens? Have taken out and cleaned all pbvious...

Do you hear the pump working but no water flows?

You should select hot water (the third button from the right) and the display should say "hot water" at the same time it is saying VENTILATE --- open the steam valve all the way and the pump should start and you should see water from the steam wand.

If you don't hear the pump at all, then that is a different problem.

If you do hear the pump but still don't get any water with the steam valve open, then you need to prime the pump by using a turkey baster or the accordian pump that came with the Titanium to pump water into the valve where water from the tank goes. Remove the tank and use the turkey baster to pump water into that valve while the pump is running and the steam valve is open all the way with HOT WATER selected. the second water starts to come out the steam valve you want to stop the pump (turn the power off or turn the steam knob shut) and put the water tank back on and make sure there is plenty of water in the tank - then start the pump again by opening the steam valve all the way and let it pump water out the steam wand for a few minutes.

Jacuzzi wont start.. I hear a mumming noise when trying to turn it on, but nothing happens.. Help

How old is the unit? If it is over five years old or so, the motor may be locked up due to a seized up pump. If someone left it running when the water drained out, or turned it on with no water in the tub, it is easy to burn out the pump. If it hums for a minute then quits, it is probably kicking out on the motor reset buton. If you have to push the red button on the motor this is prrobably the case, It sounds like a replacement pump will be required. You may be able to do this yourself if you can get to the pump. However many shortsighted builders sheetrocked around the pump requiring the removal of some wall sections to get to the pump. If yoyu attempt this yourself, be sure when you are done with the repair that there are absolutly no leaks. Even one drop per minute will cause rot under your tub.

How do I change the fuel pump on a 2000 Acura TL?

hi, when you turn the ignition on do you hear the fuel pump start up if you do then the pump is fine if how ever you hear nothing then the chances are its going to either be the fuel pump or fuel pump relay, if you have a look in your fuse box you should be able to find the fuel pump relay if you cant locate it then its best you get a manual to show you the relays location, you can then put a finger on the relay and when you turn the ignition on you should feel a little click coming from the relay if you hear this then the pump needs replacing but if you hear or feel nothing then the chances are the relay needs replacing.

you can also check if the pump is working by removing the fuel feed hose from the injector fuel rail then once this is removed you put a tub under it then turn the ignition on if you have fuel shooting out then you know the fuel pump and relay are ok and you need to start thinking of some other problem such as ecu etc,

see what you find then get back to me and ill try and assist you further ok

Hot tub no heater or pump heater light flashing

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Start with the pump. If it is bound up and not starting nothing else will work. Close off your valves and disconnect the pump unions. Once free, reach in with the pump unplugged and try to turn the impeller by hand. Will it turn? If not, you'll need to free it or get the pump repaired. Once the pump is working and water circulating your heater should start working.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!
