I have a Samsung SuncMaster 940BW 19'' LCD Monitor. It's a geat Monitor in my humble opinion in everything, except that since i got it i have one problem with it, and it wasnt possible for me...

This is a common problem with monitors when changing resolution. What probably happened is you may have tried to change the resolution, or an application changed the resolution, to an incompatible resolution.

For example, if you have a tiny little screen it can't display that huge resolution that a 32 inch monitor has. So, your monitor is stuck in that wrong resolution.

To fix this problem, you need to boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer, and as it is booting up tap F8 a bunch of times, and then select Boot into Safe Mode.

When it boots up, right click on the desktop, click Properties (Windows XP) or Screen Resolution (Windows 7). When the window pops up, click Settings (if on Windows XP, if on Windows 7 skip to next step). From this window, change the resolution back to the basic 800 x 600 screen resolution.

Now, reboot your computer normally. You should be able to see the desktop. Now, you can do the same thing that you did in safe mode and turn up your resolution. BUT, when you change it, if the screen goes BLANK again, DO NOT press anything. After 15 seconds it should go back, and you can try a lower resolution.

Hope this helps! Thanks for using FixYa.

ON boot up the screen goes blank ater half a second

if the screen goes blank when the windows boots up ...than it is a driver issue and you should boot in safe mode (press F9 or F12 for boot menu ) ..and while in safe mode you have to reinstall the video card driver cause it is corrupted..You should do that just in case it is getting blank in the moment windows should kick in ..
If it is right from the start than it is a computer issue ..and it is either the Ram memory to blame ..and it is booting up in a loop ..and in this case try to remove it ..and boot with on ram memory at the time and see if one of them is faulty ..or if ti is just one ..remove place back ..and also remove the cmos battery to clear settings and boot again and see what s going on ..It may work and in this case problem solved ..or not and you should try new memory ..
Or the worse case..this can be a CPU failing ..and you will have to change it ..

Please restart your computer and tap the F8 key as soon as you see something on the screen. You should get the advanced boot menu. Select Safe Mode from the list.

Let me know if you were able to boot to safe mode.

Monitor goes blank on boot up message says out of range when boot to win 7 screen please help franco

Your screen refresh rate is set to high for your monitor.
You will need to startup in safe mode if possible and change the refresh rate, >control panel>display>change resolution>advanced options

If this is not possible you may try a different monitor.

Let me know if I can assist further.

My ViewSonic computer monitor keeps displaying a Vga Not Support Message upon booting then the message Out Of Range comes up on a completely dark screen. Need Help

It sounds like the computer is trying to use a resolution that the monitor cannot handle. Boot into safe mode by pressing the f8 key during boot up and select safe mode. Once booted, right click on the desktop and select properties. In settings lower the resolution by moving the bar to the left and reboot.

I would move it all the way down, you can then move it up a step at a time once you are in normal mode again.

Hope this helps

Screens works for 5 mins then goes blank!!!!!

It could also be that the video card is not compatible with this monitor. After the pc boots up, can you get into windows? Does the monitor always go out at a specific time on boot? Say for example; you boot the pc, windows startup splash screen comes on; screen does a quick flash and goes blank. Then it maybe the BIOS setting for the video. Try changing the IRQ setting. You could also try putting the video card in another slot. Do you have the manual for the motherboard? Ray
