Hi
Go to your menu in the machine. Use your up arrow to go to decalcify and push enter. Have your solution for decalcifing the machine mixed in your water tank. Have a large container under the steam wand and cappuccinator on the left. Then open the knob for steam. Machine will say "Machine descaling". It has to finish the whole tank before it says "descale finished". Now rinse the water tank and put fresh water in it and put back on machine. Now close knob and then reopen it. Machine will say "Rinsing" When that tank is gone, it will say finished. Put water in tank and then go back to your menu and go down 1 to reset descale. push enter and chose "Yes" and hit enter to lock it. Now go down to water hardness and hit enter. Cahnge the # to 4 and hit enter. Push the escape button 2 times and your back. and ready to go.

This is an operation which is routinely performed by the owner. Go to http://saecooutlet.com/manuals/Royal%20Cappuccino.pdf , and follow the instructions for standard descaling on page 94 of the manual.

I have a Jura Impressa J9 but there is no Descale or Decalcify option to choose

If your machine is not displaying the descale or decalcify option, you can try forcing it into descaling mode. To do this, press and hold the rotary switch until "RINSE" is displayed. Briefly press the rotary switch again until "RINSE" lights up. Turn the rotary switch until "DECALCIFY" is displayed. Product Support - JURA

Jura E8 decalcify message even though using filter. Scrolled through menu cannot find filter section. Do I decalcify? or how to get rid of message? Is there something wrong with the machine?

The filter does not remove minerals from the water, so the boiler builds up mineral deposits. Only way to slow that down is to use distilled water. Even then you will get msg periodically. YES, decalcify.

Hi
I am assuming that you have a digital machine. If so, you have to go into the menu and go to "Reset Descale", push the enter button and choose "Yes" and push the button again. Then you can exit the menu and it should be gone.

I am having trouble starting the decalcify program, even though the light blinks "ready/decalcify"

Had the same problem, i noticedt that there is a procedure to run decalcify anytime in the instructions book.

Turn off the machine, press Rinse button until it says Empty Tray then go go Step 2 in the instructions.

Declcification Program not working

This is an old question but I have the answer. I called Capresso Customer service. I told her what I was doing and she walked me through it. When it came to holding down the button for three seconds, I said I didn't get green lights but 4 solid red lights. She informed me the manual booklet was wrong and asked me where I got it. I said it came with the machine AND I looked it up online and downloaded a PDF of the manual just to double check. She informed me "Well, you are where you need to be now, so proceed with the decalcification". You think Capresso would put up or send out a notice to owners. They have my info and they have "refurbished" the machine once before. Weird.

What does Decalcify mean?

You can download the manual for free. Search for the manual.

If you want to decalcify, then you need to get decalcifying solution. The button with two circles is the decalcify mode. Press that, and the unit will go through it's automatic decalcify. There is a specific procedure to best decalcify superautomatic machines. Please search for that.

After this is done, the decalcify message will not appear. It is on a preset schedule, not an actual measurement of how much scale is in the machine.

Although you don't have to decalcify, it is recommended, especially if you live in an area with hard water.
